• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Progressive Insurance

The ONLY really important factor that should be considered in the purchase of insurance:

How will the Company treat you during, and after a loss??

:lecturef_smilie:More important than even the price!! nojoke

USAA member since 1976

I have all (5) of my cars insured with USAA. They don't insure motorcycles directly, but they use Progressive to write their bike policies. In an effort to simplify my finances, and because I fully support and believe in USAA, I switched my bike coverage to Progressive through them. My premiums appear to be a little higher, but good insurance is not all about the costs. I found this out recently when our Spyder was totaled and they couldn't have handled it better. The payoff was prompt, and frankly, more than I expected. I now know why collision coverage for our spyders can be so expensive!

Maybe the respect and appreciation that USAA has for current and former military transfers to Progressive. If so, it merits my patronage.

4 vehicles, 1 horse trailer, house and property thru USAA. They recommended Progressive for my 2 harleys and 2 spyders. No claims on the cycles, but prices seem reasonable. And I absolutely trust USAA.

I use Progressive for my Spyder and snowmobiles. Their rates are too cheap not too. My Spyder rate is $180 and the sleds are $125 each.

I think it depend on were you live. Here in New Mexico they wanted 750.00 a year. State farm was 450.00. I also think that there still not sure how to classify a spyder yet.

I had State Farm for years (on everything), started raising prices for no obvious reason. Switched to Allstate, had them for years...they did the same. We have been with Progressive now for about ten years; house, cars, truck, mcycle. They were cheaper on everything. Had a few tows, wife was rear ended...everything fixed. No rate increases on vehicles...in fact over the years on the motorcycle they lowered it.

I just got a new Spyder and added it to the policy. $288.00 a years for full coverage :D . I thought it was a good price....HOW DOES IT COMPARE to what you pay ?

So for now...we are happy with them...and FLO is a peach ! :ohyea:

Although insurance premiums in the States seem to be based upon different parameters to those
in the UK. I'm paying a tad over £400 (c. $600) for an all risks policy on my F3-S. There are at the moment only
two vehicle insurance companies which will even consider insuring a Can-Am Spyder.

Without reading all the comments here, if you have and support Progressive insurance, you should be ashamed of yourself. Period.

Do some freaking research. If you don't agree, maybe you should look into supporting Isol as well. :lecturef_smilie:

Wow. Hyperbole much?

I'm not sure which of these two threads is more interesting. This one, or what you named your spyder. They both have me on the edge of my seat.

Exact same experience

I had Progressive on my GoldWing... when I bought my 2014 Spyder Progressive quoted me $760 for a year (no tickets - no claims) I shopped around.. Geico beat Progressive on the exact same coverage by $476... guess who I insured with ??

osm
I've had progressive for my BMW because that's who USAA referred me to, but they were really high for the Spyder. Geico about half the cost for the exact same coverage. Sorry Flo.
