• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Product key for Garmin Maps that came with zumo 660

I picked up my RT-LE over the weekend, tried to install the Garmin software on my mac. I installed the software then it said I needed to unlock the maps on the mac. It found the device I entered the zumo 660 serial number, but I have no product key. I tried the serial number on the back of the cd packaging, no luck, inside cd packaging is says place product key here, but its empty.

I registered the zumo 660 with Garmin, it found some new maps and updated the zumo 660 with the latest, I got an email with a product key, so I thought this was it. But all I get is invalid product key. I have emailed Garmin tech support but while I'm waiting did any on else have this issue.

I just did mine today also, look on the bottom of the small yellow piece of paper in the packaging box.
Find the registration number in the bottom left corner and enter that one.
Hope that helps.

Nope, double, triple checked no yellow paper with number?, I got a white box that had loads of mounts and screws, lots of black and white papers inside. The 'only' bit of yellow was a warning card on the usb about installing drivers before plugging GPS.

who as my numbers....... :banghead:

I will see what Garmin says, I can call the dealer tuesday see if its lying around the shop or if they put it some where safe.

thanks

I have the same problem, no Product Key. I took my white box, with all content, back to the dealer, they called Garmin and the guy at Garmin said when you register the Zumo 660 you will get the Product Key.
You should have the yellow paper (size 4 1/8" x 5 3/4") inside the box with the Unit serial #, Registration# and the Unlock Code.
I personally have not registered mine as yet, I'm going to do this before its 60 days old, so I will receive the latest map updates, you only get one update
from what I've read.

I have 2011 and checked in the white Garmin box and there is indeed yellow paper with the unlock code on it.
Good luck

Nope. looked, had my son look as well just in case, paged through every pamphlet in the box just in-case, when through the dealer paper work, in case they had put in there for safe keeping. Will call dealer tomorrow (closed today Monday) not heard anything back from Garmin. One of those silly things I can hope resolve pretty quickly.

When I got my Zumo, it came with a yellow paper and a product code but the software wouldn't accept it.
I've upgraded the software and installed it on a couple of machines without the unlock code.
I had to connect my Zumo to each of the computers I installed the software on.
I think the unlock code now resides inside the Zumo itself.

Got it working

I got it working, still have no yellow paper, but figure I would try something, posting in case someone else as the same issue.

I attached the Zumo 660 (as I did before), entered the serial number, but this time clicked retrieve unlocks.

I got the message 'Successfully unlocked map(s) for device'

Cool, but now I have another issue, when I start base camp on the mac, it asks me if I want to install an update.

Every time I say yes the application crashes.
