There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Purchased the Can-Am wiring harness (5-wire), purchased a trailer (Not BRP) 4-wire, Purchased a 5-wire to 4-wire converter, everything worked fine for a short time.

Now, I keep blowing the Trail light fuse(red 10 am) without trailer connected. Got so frustrated, rechecked wiring and All is okay, Took into shop and they put in a 15 am fuse I place of the 10 am......

Can an anyone help or any suggestions on how to correct the problems I'm having, changing to fuse to 15 am just doesn't sit well with me. Why does it keep blowing the 10 am fuse when the trailer isn't even connected..... Looking for answers???

thanks

The current Can Am trailer wiring harness is 4 wire. That is since 2011 or 12. So do you have an old style harness or a aftermarket one?
What year and model of Spyder do you have? That may be helpful.
If you're using a Can Am harness. Do you mean you are blowing the 10 amp trailer fuse or for sure the tail/running light fuse?

I have a 2013 Syder RTS..... I purchased the " Show Chrome Trailer wiring kit, Spyder RT 10-15, 41-162, which has a five wire to trailer system. Then I purchased a 5-pole(wire) to Four wire converter, so it would work on my trailer. Tested trailer and worked fine. Disconnected trail, and took Spyder in for service. While enroute, everytime I would brake, it would blow the 10 am Brake fuse, second fuse from left, causing Syder to go to Limb home mode showing two warning codes at me, orange wheels skidding and engine picture. No stop lamps what so ever.
pulled over, turned off and restarted, and would be out of Limp mode, but no brake lights.

The rest is history....

Ok now I understand what you have.

So first question that comes to mind. Is the problem in the Show Chrome harness or in the original wiring that happened to show up now? I would unplug the trailer harness and see if the problem is still there. If that fixes it. Then I would inspect the wiring and test the isolator module in the Show Chrome harness. The problem has to be in or before the isolator module. If it was after it would be the harness fuse that would blow instead.

Thank you... I wasn't happy with the service person at the Cam Am Dealer telling me to just increase the fuse to a 15 am fuse....

Is there any diagram or detailed explanation on DIY way of by-passing the wiring harness all together???? recommendation???

If you installed it yourself, just get the install instructions and unplug the the harness.

If someone else installed it for you. Do you still have the instructions?

I do do have the instruction, and will try that..... If it is the harness??? I still have the problem of how do I connect the trailer?

Don't fully remove the harness just disconnect it. If it is the harness then we will figure out what's wrong with it. Just need to narrow down the search for the problem.
