• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

With only 22 miles on her now I set off to work this morning in the dark hours before dawn.
I had a heck of a time with my left thumb trying to figure out where the turn signal button was (kept hitting the horn) and
when I did a lane change had trouble cancelling the turnsignal. The guy behind me probably thought I was turning left, then right, no left again.
I guess I need to train the thumb better.
But...I never stopped smiling!

I had the same problem until I figured out if you push the knob straignt in it turns the blinker off...have fun on your ride....
 
Yup...sometimes, I'm that idiot wth the flashing signal!

I have the same trouble, still after over 3k. Stubborn left signal... The Right is EASY, but in order to get the Left to work, I sorta need to push down slightly as I pull it left. And it is a bit Touchy for lane changes! When you push straight in (that what I'm trying to do) I activate the left... I just make a habit of checking for flashing lights on the dash every couple of minutes.
But I'm still Rydin!!! :thumbup:
 
Wait until you want to flick your lights at somebody, AND hit your horn at about the same time... :shocked:
I shut the bike off, and cried for twenty minutes!
 
The turn signal button and horn button on my Goldwing were in pretty much the same location as on the Spyder. Much of the time I still have to look down to make sure I have my thumb in the right place, and that's after 8 years and over 50,000 miles! Some of us never learn! :banghead:

Moving your hand from the left grip makes it impossible to perform any of those left-hand tasks; without a serious re-acquaintence of the two!

I'm kinda' glad to see I'm not the only one this has happened too!! :roflblack: And I thought I was just different.
 
The One thing I do miss about my 1973 sportster was the way HD did the turn signals. It was a push and hold button on both the right and the left handlebars. You'd hold the button the signal was on. Let go and it was off. Didn't have to worry about canceling it. Again THAT was the only thing I miss about that sportster. lol

Twice I have gone to upshift and went for the "Clutch" and did unexpected down shift. Very exciting.
 
The buttons become second nature after a while. I still have to think about the horn--since I do not hardly ever use it. Honk at somebody when they tick you off--they may shoot back. :roflblack::roflblack:

I had the same problem when I first started riding mine. I did that so often at first, I finally started taking a quick glance at the controls to see what I was reaching for. Thankfully I can now say I can find everything with just my thumb and without having to look. I do a quick" where's the horn" runthrough fairly often because a few months back I meant to honk the horn at some car who decided they needed my lane and I hit the turn signal instead of the horn. Luckily my right hand found the throttle before I could even think through the horn/turn signal stuff going on with the left hand :shocked:
