There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Problem free how long?

Just out of curiosity with all the issues I have read on the board with the Spyder, how about some positive information for those on the wire trying to decide about spending the money..

Here is the question: How many miles have you ridden your Spyder trouble free? No bells or whistles going off or codes. Just plain ole good riding..

Please answer as follows..

Example1: 2000 miles and still. Running
Example2: 2000 miles then error code (user error) or (faulty part)

You get the idea.. No need to elaborate on the issue, just note if the problem was from breaking the do's and dont's or was it a manufacture problem, improper setup from dealer etc..

Just curious as to the average miles most people are getting before they run into their first problem with the bike, regardless of how minor..

Hopefully this will be on the positive side :)

trouble free

22,000 miles and nothing that ever stranded me. No codes or any of that. Couple things handled on next visit or rwo.:firstplace:

16 months and 11,500 miles. No worries, no trouble, never a limp mode.

Thrown codes only twice: once because my brake fluid was low, the second time just recently because I killed my O2 sensor (my fault, combo of aftermarket exhaust/fuel controller/new air intake, I just stressed out the bike too much-- NOT the Spyder's fault at all!).

Would buy again tomorrow

2010 RT SE Blue - 16,000 miles w/ no problems

2011 RT SM Black - 8,000 miles repl. Throttle body
- 2,000 miles repl. Throttle body again

2012 RT Ltd Bronze- 7,500 miles w/no problems

2012 RT Ltd-White - 1,000 miles repl. defective front tire
6,800 miles w/no problems

In 11,000 miles; I've had 2 issues:
Throttle bodies were replaced...
Currently I've got a throttle position sensor that's acting up...

But it's STILL more fun than picking on your kid sister when nobody's looking! :roflblack:

2012 RT Ltd purchased late May 12...have close to 4700 trouble free miles. Rode it from Southeastern Va to Greeneville Tn (Lamont's BBQ) , rode The Rattler, the Hellbenders, the Tail of The Dragon, and parts of the Blueridge Parkway (about 300 miles of twisties) in one day. Total miles covered on trip...almost 1700. Rode about 50 miles in a downpour on the way to Tn. No issues, no codes...just a lot of fun!

2500 miles nearly 3 months no problems at all except today when I forgot to put it in Neutral whilst parking at a mall.Put it on Spyderlovers with my cellphone.Within 2 mins was called by a member.Discovered I had left it in first when you have to start it by depressing the brake. My stupidity.Started up no problem.Have been on and off the bike all morning since.
It's one terrific machine.I love it.

Over 13k with no problems on my 2011 RS,think Y gaskets are failing(due for replacement at 12k),Wife's 2011 RT-s has 9k with no problems!

2011 RTSE5 purchased in March. 4800 miles, throttle body failure, had to be towed to dealer. Throttle body has me concerned more of any problems I've seen on this forum. Seems to be prevelant problem not with all of them, of course. I guess since it happened to me and we got stranded, it's upper most in my mind. Also dealer said he has 3 that had throttle body replaced and then came again for same problem. Just sayin.......

14 months, 13k miles, no major issues such as limp or codes. Only had to have radio replaced under "water intrusion" program, and I didn't know there was an issue as everything was working fine. Tech just told me he ordered a new radio and antenna as the connector was real corroded. Happy Ryder here!!

12,300 miles RTS bought in March 2012. Love it no problems. It has been serviced regularly. I believe that is key to no problems and having
a good dealership.
