Problem BRP Adjustable Back Rest

I have installed a BRP adjustable back rest on my 2021 Spyder RTL. Has a small metal pull to release and adjust the heigh if I pull to hard it get stuck to far forward and is very difficult to get it to move back to adjust. Does any one have any idea as to how to make it more user friendly. I hate it, the same person who designed BRP connect must get credit for it.

I sprayed the rest bar and the under seat connection with silicon and that has helped tremendously!
