There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Problem after changing rear tire

I changed my rear tire using the method of pulling thr shock bolt so I wouldn't have to mess with the belt tension. Pulled the bolt, pulled 2 brake assembly bolts, jacked it up until I could remove the belt and removed the tire. I also had to remove the flywheel and the rotor for the tire shop.

After re-assembling, I have a kind of click/clunk in the rear. I can hear it at very slow coasting speed, but cannot hear it when I jack the bike up and spin the wheel.

Any thoughts? Did I some how damage the bearings during the change?

Thanks for your help.

After searching this forum, it looks like it may be a belt tension/alignment issue. There is no sound when I spin the wheel up on jacks.

Did you get a chance to check the black cushions INSIDE the wheel hub?
Just a thought that they could probably be missing/misaligned/dried out?
Does rear sprocket have any play in it with or without belt on?

I always change out the bearings when I change a rear motorcycle tire. Not saying that is your problem, but for me pretty cheap insurance .

All the cushions are accounted for and look good. There is no play in the sprocket. In hindsight, I wish I had changed the bearings. I just think I should get more than 13k or 14k out of the bearings. I don't ride it hard.

Thanks for all the advice. Guess I will take it to the dealer and have them fix whatever I messed up. Time to get out the credit card.:gaah:

When you reassembled you have to make sure to push forward on the wheel so the adjusters are tight while you tighten the axle bolt. Otherwise, the belt adjustment will be off.

Just an update to the abnormal noise. I took my spyder in to have the dealer check it out. Somehow, I got the belt tension way too tight. Once he adjusted this, no more noise. I didn't mess with the tensioning bolts, so I have no idea how this happened. All is well now, though!

Glad you got that worked out. You don't want that belt too tight. Something changed there somehow.
