• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pretty disappointing discussion with Corbin just now

I just got off the phone with Corbin. I had already sent them 2 requests via the form on their web site asking the question with no response.

I wanted a custom seat. Single color with a pair of stripes running down the center front to back. Much less complicated that what they already did for Lamont's bike.

They flatly refused unless I personally brought the bike to California for the job to be done while I wait.

I was not asking for the work to be done for free or anything, perfectly willing to pay for the custom work. They just refuse to do anything other than the standard design shown on the web site. They also said Lamonster was a special case then they would not do work like that for anyone else. I have seen other custom Corbin seats and the owners were generally pretty happy with them. This was NOT the response I was expecting to get when trying to spend money. Heck the Corbin web site talks about all kinds of custom work. If I have to take the bike to CA, its far more money than this is worth. A seat is not worth 6 or 7 thousand bucks.

Did I just ask the wrong person the wrong question? Should I just move on? Suggestions?

JC, contact Ultimate seat...maybe they can fix u up.

I did. I actually really liked my Ultimate on my RT and went to them first. They will not have an F3 seat until this winter, maybe late fall. As this is going, I may end up waiting....

You may have been talking with the wrong person. Can't believe a "custom" company wants to turn down custom work. :dontknow:

We have seen similar issues crop up from time to time. The customer talks with someone else, and the problem is solved.

I do not have a contact person at Corbin.

Perhaps another member on here will know "who" to call.

As I stated in the first post, it was calling Corbin that started this problem. The CS agents at that line read from a script that is essentially just order what is shown on the web site or go away.

Was looking for some help in contacting someone inside Corbin that might be willing help get a seat with a custom cover design ordered.

Thinking hurts, following the template is easy and fun

Don't e-mail Corbin.
I called them from my home in Canada. I had an awesome conversation with one Corbin's sales reps ansd was able to order a seat to my liking.
I did not want spyder web stitch pattern, Corbin suggested a tuck and roll stitch pattern and I did not want a spyder logo on the seat, just Corbin's name in silver thread.
I am not sure how custom my order was but the pattern and leather and asphalt pattern side vinyl was used. Also got a rain seat cover made for seat and backrest, at the time not on their web site.

My seat patterns and material are available for other motorcycle brands. Very happy with service from Corbin and my seat arrived 2 weeks early :firstplace:

Surprises me that Corbin won't work with you. For the money you pay for they're seat, it doesn't make sense !!!
Me personally, I like the Ultimate seat better. Saddle style and you don't have to break it in.
Just my 2 cents !!! :-)

I saw that... I wonder if asking to be transferred to somebody "Up the Hill" might have garnered you a more sympathetic ear? :dontknow:
Ask for "Special Projects", or "The Design Team". See if that helps.
Good Luck!

If you want a cookie cutter bike like thousands of others fine. This is a custom bike and needs a custom seat.

I DID call. I DID ask for help with a custom design seat, they flatly told me there was no one else to talk to and I was not 'special' enough to get custom work like Lamont unless I wanted to bring the bike to CA and wait for it. There was no one else they would transfer my call to.

This is all why I came here to ask for help. I know Lamont and others have had Corbin do custom work, I have been trying to find out who they talked to when they called so I can ask for a real human that give a $#!t about selling anything.

Ultimate is not an option for an F3 for many months if ever.

Now that is a helpful offer. Let me check around and see if I can find a stock F3 seat set I can buy for not too much and send you to rework. I really do not feel what I want done is all that complicated. The stock seat is fine, well could use one of your gel inserts while in there but the pattern is fine, just want a blue seat with a pair of silver parallel racing stripes running down the middle, front to back through both driver and passenger sections. Let me look for a stock seat and then call you to work out the details. I did check out your web site and the samples look like pretty nice work.

Anyone else here have a seat done by Dave's?

Anyone have a stock F3 or F3-S seat they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price? They are the same except the S has red stitching vs black.

I have an F-S stock seat that was never used. I got the cannonball and they put the stock seat in a box and handed it to me. PM me and I will give you my number.
