• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

pressure monitor

You can buy them on EBay for the Spyders; they even have the right format for the reverse-trike display...
There's another thread about these kicking around right now also. I believe that it dealt with advice on mounting the pressure display unit.

I use a TPMS system with my RV, including the tow dolly and the rear wheels of the towed vehicle. The system works very well, and I believe it is a must have for that configuration.

I know that the systems are out there for bikes, haven't really considered adding it to any of my bikes though. I am comfortable with running Ride-On in the tires and keeping track of the tires at stops.

One drawback I could see with the system they use is the power source. I would prefer to have the ability to use either a battery or plug in for the monitor, but that is just me. I did notice that the sensors are like the ones I currently use, there is a disc battery in them (works fine) and a way to lock them on the tire. The downside of those sensors comes when you have to add air. You must remove the sensor to adjust the pressure and as you remove and replace the sensor, you will experience some air loss. Not that much when you are running 100 psi in a tire, but at the pressures used on the Spyder that could be a real PITA. The model I use now has sensors with a pass through valve so I can adjust the pressure without removing the sensor.

I posted a thread on a similar unit the other day...

Big Bike Parts makes one that is currently on sale for either $100 or $120, very similar. I'm still trying to find a good way to mount out. Search for "TPMS" in this forum and it will pop up.

These things work really well. The tires sensors are very light and don't affect the tire balance, they broadcast to the display unit whenever the pressure changes by 1 lb or more (or maybe 0.5 lbs??), they can display the air temp in the tire, and the display will blink or flash red when the pressure or temp get out of the range that you set up.

Currently trying the uber-velcro, will see how that works.
