Hey Scotty. I'm not sure where your Canadian friends are buying their gas, but here in southern Ontario, the highest concentration is 10% ethanol, just like in Michigan, except for one weird-ass chain that only has a few outlets and is pushing hard for an ethanol subsidy from the government. I run as fast as I can away from them. I also use no higher octane than recommended. My Kawasaki Concours is supposed to run on regular 87 octane gas, and that is what I have always used. It runs like a Champ on it. :bigthumbsup:NancysToy said:Usually, here in the States (at least in Michigan), running premium in an engine that is set up for regular will result in lower gas mileage. Much like running ethanol. In Canada, from what my friends tell me, there is already so much ethanol in the gas that use of premium often increases the gas mileage, since it contains more actual gasoline...oops, petrol. My wife's Chevy HHR will run regular, but is supposed to run premium, and the mileage increases substantially with high test. I attribute that to the engine management system running at optimum, and not cutting the spark advance way back to compensate for spark knock. Gonna try regular first. If it works, we will stick with it.
