• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have 2008 gs. Power steering cuts out periodically. Shop can't find any problem. Stops working in turns and when driving down road, then starts again. Really surprises me in turns. Any help appreciated.

Little checking..!!

that dps unit takes some serious use of battery power. You need to make sure all your electrical connections are clean and tight. This does not mean just wiggle them. I'm sure they checked the fuses but check again and you may consider checking with another dealer as well...also see if all updates were made they did have some dps problem back then...good luck..!!

You do know there was a recall for the 2008/2009 GS, spyder for the dps (power steering) sometime in 2010. Do you know if yours was ever changed out?

The complaints that brought about the recall were exactly those same problems that you describe.

:agree: Check the battery connection (inside the body) to see that they are clean and tight, and check both the front and rear frame grounds. The rear ground is the negative jump start terminal under the seat on pre-2013 Spyders. If the problem still exists after the he connections have been cleaned and tightened, the battery should be tested, as should the charging system output. If that bears no fruit, your DPS may be failing. Few of these would leave a diagnostic code under most intermittent circumstances.

Was the DPS ever replaced under the recall? You should not be able to pull the fuse without triggering a DPS fault warning and possible limp mode with the revised firmware that accompanied the DPS replacement. If the DPS has not been replaced, a serious safety hazard exists, and it should be addressed ASAP.
