• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Power Steering Comparison

In comparing a 2018 with my 2016 RT LTD Power Steering it seems that the 2018 responds or steers effortlessly even at stand still My 2016 does not...
has anyone noticed this? Before I pull the trigger on my 1 month out of warranty Spyder to see if indeed it's a problem thought I'd throw this out
Thanks

The DPS is different in the late 17 and 18 models although I can’t tell you if one feels different than the other. I had a 14 RT and now have a 17 F3T with the new DPS so that would be an apples to oranges comparison.

In 2017 the power steering unit (DPS) was changed. I don't know what the change was exactly but I do know my 2017 F3L steers much easier than my 2015 RT especially at a standstill and at slow speeds. I can maneuver the F3 in and out of the garage and a parking lot with ease compared to my RT.

I have a 2017 RTS and the PS is hard at standstill.
My wife has a 2017 F3L and the PS is as easy as can be at a standstill.

The RTS has been that way since I got it. So to me, it is normal.

My 15 RTS would not turn at idle. Had to start moving. My 18 F3L steers effortlessly at idle and moving. I love it. The 15 RTS was like moving a tank in tight parking situations. You would think BRP could offer an update for older ones to steer easier.

Not all 2017’s have the new DPS, so it is possible that yours does not have it. If a 17 requires BUDS2 then it has the new DPS, if it can communicate with BUDS then it is the old version.

WELLLLLLL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT

The F-3 is about 200 + lbs. lighter, the suspension is a little different, and the weight distribution is different ..........so why do folks think they will steer the same ??? :dontknow: .............jmho .........Mike

weight

Per BRP spec's the '17 RT Limited weighs 1012 lbs. and the F3 T weighs 948 = 64 lbs.
Keep it honest!
Have a nice day and enjoy the weekend,
