• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the OEM usb dual port. What I need now is a single or two port waterproof usb connector that will fit in the spot where the switch for the heated grips goes. That way I can run a wire or wires to it and not have to take the back seat off.

I also have to find an extender for my battery tender wire so I can run it from the front of the bike to the saddle to plug my heated gear into. (I have all summer to find that though.)

TRY THIS

Chris;
maybe this will help....
i fab'd a cross-bar and loaded it up with goodies.....

bought the USB/Cigar Lighter online for $24... connected it directly to the battery, and use the Cig port for my Battery Tender when i'm not riding...
i connect the Radar Detector to the Cig outlet, and my phone/GPS to the USB ports when riding and it works gr8... my garage door openner on the right has it's own battery powered...

Power outlet

Thanks everyone for your help.
i recieved the outlet today and was getting ready to install it and came up with two questions.

which of the two wires Goes on the+ Side of the outlet one is black and the other purple with a black stripe ( electrical is not my thing )

second question, does the bike need to be running for this outlet to work.BTW this is the one under the passenger seat.
Thanks.

The wires under my left access panel are purple with yellow stripe (positive) and black. It is only hot with the engine running.

Purple is positive

I just put mine in that spot yesterday. Purple is positive and black is negative. It only works with it running.

12 v wiring

So I have the heated grips installed on my F3 by the dealer. I have the 12v outlet that I want to locate in the other location near the handlebars. Is there two sets of wires for accessories near the handlebars or do I need to run wires from under the passenger seat forward to make it a switched outlet ? If anyone has done something similar I would be interested in how you did it. Just bought it last Friday so haven't taken the panels off yet :)

In that general area, is one of the (3) power harnesses provided. Under the left-side lateral panel, strapped to the
larger harness you will see if you look up in there, is a cloth-covered set (bare wire ends with wax and cloth taped)
that only work when the engine is running. (I used that for my USB power, which I put in the same place as your
heated grip button on the left-side of the key). The 12v aux supply has a large label hanging on it as-well.

The smaller harness (2-wire) is cloth covered and black zip-tied to the larger harness.
