• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

POWER OFF BATTERY?????

View from behind

New member
We have a 2015 RT LTD and are going to be adding Powerlet outlets for our heated gear and need to make a connection to the battery or some other place to get 12 volts dc.
Is there access to the battery terminals other than through the front? Does a hole need to be drilled through behind the battery. Any help will be greatly appreciated.:chat:

Has anyone come right off the alternator?????

I don't think so. I added a extra power access to mine just because I wanted to add a few things and didn't want to fill the battery compartment

When considering fitting any accessory sockets ensure you have a decent ground and you install a fuse and a switch and a solenoid capable of taking the amperage of the heated garments. The fuse should be capable of carrying the amps but remember the fuse is to protect the circuit so don't fit too high a fuse value!

By making your own loom you can install your connections almost anywhere without boring holes or at least out of eyesight! Zap straps and careful planning or placement makes all the difference. While in your experimental stage leave a spare loop of cable so you can move the connection without having to remake it!

I'm interested in adding a Powerlet. Where do you plan to locate yours?

What is a loom???

The wiring loom is the wiring assembly for your Spyder, auto or motorcycle! All your electrical components are attached to it, brake lights tail and headlights, electronics and flasher and so on!
