• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Power Commander V with AutoTune! Information and Review

Questions

New member
I have a 2011 RSS SE5 with the Green Filter and Hindle (baffle removed) exhaust.
I have been doing tons of research as to which fuel Management system is best for a Spyder.
I have come to the conclusion that the PCV with AutoTune is the best way to go.
I purchase the items through Fuel Moto, they have great service, are very knowledgeable, and have very very good prices! I loaded the two brothers single exhaust with green filter base map to start. I can not wait to get these items installed next week.
I will keep everyone posted with HONEST results and information.

If anyone has any tips or information for me, please let me know!

If and when.....

I sure would like to get rid of the huge air box on my sm5, for the obvious reasons.
If I was to ever get a fuel management system, it would probably be the "full boat" PCV system.
I like the Autotune feature and the easier tuning it would afford.
I would probably buy a second header collector and have the O2 sensor bung welded in.
However for the cost of $1000.00 for the system ,at this point , I can live with the sometimes slight stumble I might experience!
But it is one of the "itches I'd like to scratch" projects. Someday.

I have a 2009 Can Am Spyder RS and my son has purchased a KMS slip on for me kmsexhaust and I've installed the Air Filter Kit from KewlMetal Can-Am Spyder Performance Air Filter Kit . I too purchased the PCV and Autotune Kit from Fuel Moto USA . The wiring harness was about a foot too short for the Autotune. We ended up running it down the right side of the bike and zip tying the autotune module inside the engine compartment. We gave FuelMotoUSA a call and let them know so maybe they lengthened it by now. Anyway, other than that is was a pretty simple install.

The Autotune software is easy to use and as slick as it comes. Since it's near impossible to find someone with a dyno that will take a spyder and has the know how on how to tune it the PCV & Autotune was the only way to go for me. To steal a quote from someone who commented online "My bike runs like a raped Ape" as long as it's not too hot. When the outside temp goes up and I get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for more than 15 minutes my bike starts to run like total crap. Since it's all in the closed loop range I figure it's the PCV thats falling down on the job but I haven't spoken with anyone about it as of yet as my bike has been in and out of the shop (mostly in) since April as it's been eating front sprockets (whole nuther can o worms)

If your bike runs real bad after it gets hot, check to see if your bike got the update for the purge valve. If the purge valve stays open too long the bike will run lean. We had lots of issues back in 08 and 09. I just removed the hose to the intake and plugged it. Problem solved. Machinegunner.

Why.......have you found the cause....please let us know.....:(
Too tight belt tension promoted by BRP 2008-2009 combined with bad design main shaft/front sprocket.
Changed 8 front sprockets on 2 engine in 130K miles.

No one has been able to tell me why it's been happening. I've switched dealerships and they've just finished changing the belt, backsprocket, front sprocket and superceded the the old transmission shaft with a 2011 version. After I switched dealerships the mechanic from the old dealership told me he had read somewhere that BRP was having this problem with other bikes as well and were changing out the transmission shafts with the newest version because it has a balancer. Who knows.

Overheating

My bike's been in the shop so often I'm sure it has all the updates but I will definately try your solution anyway because sitting in rush hour traffic wondering if your bike is going to make it home just plain sucks.

Wow, I thought 3 sprockets was bad. Was the problem finally resolved?

Wow!!!

This is the best update I have done to my Spyder RSS! Bike runs perfect! So much smoother and very strong!! Feels like a whole new Spyder. My Spyder also runs cooler. I couldn't be happier. The PCV with AutoTune blows the TBR Pro away! Worth every penny!
