• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Power Bus, Driving Lights and More

I Am in the process of installing the J&M CB, the Kewlmetal Driving Lights, and I am finishing the wiring for accessories I already installed such as the Garmin Zumo, and the Kewlmetal Air Ride. Although the GPS and air ride were already wired, I was not happy with the wiring and I wanted to wire it all through an Evoluzione power bus. The Air ride is wired to the main fuse bus under the seat because I want that to be unswitched. Also, Ken at Evoluzione is kind enough to be making some wiring harnesses for me for the wheel mounted driving lights. I am wiring the Driving lights and the GPS to the power bus and it is switched. One thing I noticed is when you shut the Spyder off, the factory switched accessory plug stays hot for 30 more seconds.

I did not mount my power bus where the instructions have you mount it. I wanted easier access to it in case a fuse blows. I mounted mine just in front of the coolant tank. Now you can access the fuses by opening the trunk and popping off the front plastic cover.

Ken made a really nice wiring harness for the wheel mounted driving lights. If you dont buy a power bus, the light harness goes straight back to the main fuse bus under the seat and the switch will go in the instrument panel. I wired mine to the switched power bus instead.

Like I said, I re-wired my air ride straight to the main fuse bus. Once I saw how nice that was with Ken's power bus, I decided I wanted my air ride wired that way. There were 2 empty slots so I used one for the power bus, and one for the Air ride.

Now It's time to install the J&M radio! More Pics later!

Very cool Matt. I like where you mounted the fuse box. BTW, it is a
pleasure doing business with KewlMetal. You guys are great! Recieved
my mods just a couple days after ordering. Thanks again!

I finished mounting the J&M CB and Intercom. I mounted it to the left mount point on my Kewlmetal console and moved the cup holder to the center position. I did not care for the J&M mount location up high on the handlebars. The J&M Spyder kit comes with a seperate push to talk switch for the left thumb because the typical J&M push to talk interferes with the reverse lever, so the push to talk is not an issue by mounting the J&M unit here. I also did not use their mount bracket for the CB antenna because it mounts to the license plate and I am planning to cut my rear fender and go with a side tag mount setup. At some point I will make a bracket to hang the CB antenna a little further back and allow the use of the trunk on the Kewlmetal luggage rack system. I left some extra wire up under the inner rear fender for future antenna locations!
