• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Potential buyer with questions

I was discussing with my wife and her take is one of image. "It is not MACHO?" At the younger ages and when you reach our age image don't mean as much

Thx for all the info guys. I am definitely "leaning" towards the spyder. I find leaning to be ironic....im a dork. I also conveniently neglected to mention that i have 2 bulging disks in my lower back. It doesnt hinder most activities for me, but extra lifting/exercise does cause a little pain every now and then. I think the spyder will be the best option for me when i get around to purchasing.

I will have to get a test ride to decide which model i end up with, but as of now i dont have a motorcycle license and the nearest place that has a closed course for those without a license is about 4 hours away, quite a trip for a test ride of something im not purchasing in the immediate future.

I will continue to read the forums, pick up information, and post every now and then. This seems like 1 of the more helpful/non ego driven forums ive been on(probably having to do with the fact that almost everyone is over the age of 30 & have lost a good bit of doucheyness)

I look forward to purchasing when i get my current vehicle paid down some more. Hopefully u guys dont make me want 1 too bad, i may have to sell my v8, buy a used car, and get a spyder. Must......resist.......i sure do like my car.

Wazzah Shawn?

I am in the younger catagory too. I am 35, and under your weight (though I was in the 325 zone over 6 years ago, I now weigh just under 200 and have been there for 3 years!).

I am 100% geek, I just launched a pen and paper role playing game company, if that isnt geek I dont know what is.

Also here is some food for thought, the gas mileage (150 to 180 miles per tank). A tank is basically FULL at 5.6 gallons. So here is your thought process. It is rarely more than 20 bucks per fillup. I will have to fillup more often, but I wont hate myself everytime it happens. And I loved my mustang too, until I sold it for some good $ cause everytime I got in it to go somewhere (which was an average of about once per 3 months), I was reminded I paid gas, maintenance costs, and almost 700 bucks a year on insurance. So now its just the spyder. Rain, I dont care, I love it. Cold? Bajaron has got full body suits. HOT? put on a tanktop and flip flops and go for a drive.

Fear no evil, YOLO and fun > not fun.

Wow, you daily your spyder year round? I could deal with "cold" (i am in houston after all) with body suits, but riding in the rain cannot be any fun at all, even if fully covered.

Its just water bro, crappy part is whiping your shield (helmet) at low speeds. At high speeds the wind keeps it clear.

I wont melt, so I just get my neck wet ;)

:doorag::agree::agree::agree: only Water!!!! I ryde all year around to, rain or shine, me and Spydie Ryde!!!!! And love every minute of it!!! By the way i'm 46 years young... and its too much fun not to Ryde!!!!!

Regarding rain. One of the benefits of the Spyder over the 2 wheeler I sold to fund it, is that I love riding in the rain. People think I am crazy, but with my Frogg Toggs, I really don't get wet, and with Rain-X or wax on my visor, vision really isn't a problem. I was caught in a downpour last year, and was just like a kid!!!

I just bought my first Spyder, I'm 63, 240... and my girlfriend is not small. Andwe do fine...might suggest this documentary : Fat, sick and nearly dead....IV started juicing and have lost near 20 lbs...

bignose13

I am over 50 but not over the hill. Go test rYde some :spyder2:. maybe you see one on the road, stop and see what they say. I for one have never looked back on what I did... Fell in love at first site in Hong Kong. Now a proud owner of a REGIFTED 2011 RS~S from bignose13 in Utah who has another for sale. If your interested in a second hand bike? The one he has is a great buy with some nice Mods. Send him a P.M.

Looks like you and I are sort of related. We bought the TWINS from Utah. I think you rode yours from Utah back home, and I rode mine from Utah home to Rhode Island some 4100 miles. Between you and I the TWINS have been through quite a few states.
