• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a thread on here about the positive things on our spyders, like miles with no problems, If I was looking on SL for positive things before I would buy a spyder I probably would not purchase one. Mine has about 8 thousand care free miles with no problems. It is a 2015 sts with the 998cc engine. One of the best things have ever bought in my life. Lets get some positive things going, we could do this once a month or whenever. just would like some feedback.

I have a 2012 RTS-SE5 with 22,000 miles on it. My Spyder has been to the shop one time. From new on the glove box never opened right, that little problem was corrected under warranty. At around 15,000 miles I had to replace a leaking vacuum line. A simple fix I could do my self. I just now replaced the rear brake pads. I have new front pads but upon inspection they have at least another riding season left. I did have an orange screen pop up one time about a brake failure. After adding a tiny amount of break fluid that issue was resolved. Because of all the issues you read on here even I have concerns about how reliable and trouble free a Spyder really is. I have never been left stranded or had serious issues while on the road, my Spyder has always got me back home.

Fyi 9 states visited, 28484 miles of smiles & only 586 days new :2thumbs: Few issues all under warranty:dontknow: & now I have my 622 trailer, thats all was just for starters:ohyea::coffee:

I have had 2 brand new Spyders
first was a 2008 GS Premier model 76.000 miles
then 2014 RTB Limited so far 22,000 miles
all were care free
only time my Spyder went to the dealer was for steering recall but mine never really had a problem with steering
I do all my own maintenance so :f_spider:never sees the shop.

There are....

Well not in a single post or thread but within every complaint and rant you will find the positive posts to counter the negative. Good rydes and good time pop up and I have an RS 2012 sm5 that has purred through all the abuse I have thrown at her for going on 35,000 miles. There have been some threads on the distance you have gone on your spyder and in our group (SRA San Diego) I believe 80,000+ one owner was our top and the new owner rolls on. But then we're here to help and you can't help the healthy....we can insult them be-little them and even yell at them all in good fun...:spyder::roflblack:

Chupaca
with the kind of weather you have in San Diego you should have more than 35,000 miles
your retired and can ride all year long
after all I've seen you rub it in to the north east guys about the weather
:roflblack:
I have a 2014 RTL and I'm putting 4,000 miles a year more than you
and I live in the col snowy Sierra Nevada
I hope some day I can come down and ride with you guys :yes:

Your right but due to other interests, health and limitations I only get about 10,000 a year even though I ryde all the time it's short rydes...come when you can you've got a place to stay....

Positive thoughts

I have been a member since Dec 2013 when I purchased the Spyder (2013 RT Ltd), have had no major issue and a lot of fun. My wife and I did a trip to Tasmania last year, 7,000 Klm, we are planning it again for next year. Only thing that I have as an issue is that I don't get enough time to ride my Spyder.

SpyderLovers site helps

Like all forums , you can find the glitches and problems that modern machines have if you look for them ... And I like that I can . I also do the same for any trucks I have owned and extract what seems to apply to me . The positive feedback on here has more than overruled any concerns I have about reliability . My 2008 GS has had all the updates done before I purchased it and I have changed two sensors and added a Yoshimura pipe and changed the oil ... Now having put almost 10,000 Kms on it with no probs , and every time our trips keep getting longer and more enjoyable knowing that people on here travel ( insane to me lol ) distances . Thanks folks , looking forward to many years of open roads

As others have said, you will find many positive statements about the :spyder2: in the posts where negative things are said.

When it comes to internet sites, there are usually ten negative posts to each positive post. Most people become very vocal when a glitch comes up. Not so much when everything is going well.

See my signature below. Have owned five, driven 130,000 + miles, and have not had enough issues to make me run from the brand.

The biggest problem with our complicated machines is to find a place with reliable mechanics that know what they are doing.
