I had posted over the past several days about the problem on my RT where my glove compartment lid has stopped latching. I skinned the Spyder and removed the glove box in the hope of stumbling upon the problem and fixing it. No luck, so I decided to take it to Ride Now in Chandler, which is 40 miles from home. In light of recent comments, I was filled with trepidation.
I was pleasantly surprised. The service advisor was very pleasant and knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed the problem. He ordered the latch and will call me when it comes in. He says it will take about two hours to fix. No problem that I didn't buy my Spyder from them.
I then brought up my nightmarish experience with the sales department. He laughed and told me he has heard this many times from many customers. He went on to explain that the service department tries to distance itself from the sales department.
How many certified techs do you have? I asked. The answer..... they have three (3) Master Techs.
So far I'm pleased. I'll follow up after the work is done.
As a side note, he told me that BRP has busted Apache Motorsports for not having the required certified tech on staff. They may lose their license. I'll keep an ear on that development.
