• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just curious as to what your Spyder enjoyment is or obsession :ohyea:

1) I'll never be without a Spyder ever again. It's my prize possession and main obsession.
2) I enjoy having / riding my spyder but I'm still learning the ins & outs of it.
3) It's been fun but I'll probably try some other activity or end my Spyder ownership soon.
4) I would ride something else if I could but this is as close to being on a bike as I'll be able to handle.
5) Getting slightly burned out. probably sell my spyder sometime soon
6) It wasn't what I thought I was getting into fun but not my deal.
7) If I could have every dollar that I've spent on this thing and never had the Spyder experience I'd take it in a heartbeat.

What is your level of Spyder enjoyment?

Defiantly a 1+

I keep fighting Eye sight problems at work ( Not seeing why I'm there and not riding ntil I remember
I still Paying for the pleasure of having the Spyder to ride!)

On a scale of one to ten; with ten being the highest level of enjoyment possible...
My meter is pegged at 27!! :ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea: :2thumbs:

What about "meh"? (I know, blasphemy!)

TBH, I prefer the feeling of leaning on my bikes. Of course I'm blessed with thousands of miles of twisty mountain roads both paved and unpaved so for me, a motorcycle is still more exciting. Our Spyder fills a niche between our two wheeled machines and a car. For those trips where we have a bit of luggage, or long interstates with multi-days, that's where the Spyder shines. There's a toy for everything and the Spyder is just that, our choice instead of a full bagger or 'Wing which we could never see ourselves as riding.

I enjoy the Spyder for those times when my wife will ride with me. But I'm not about ready to give up 2 wheels yet. When I ride by myself, I'm always taking the 2 wheel bike.

I never thought I would be able to ride again and have not looked back since getting my Spyder. At this point I don't even think I would trade mine in on another one, but will do what it takes to keep mine running in top condition.

Still on my original 2008

We still are riding our 2008 GS and have about 82,500 miles on it and don't plan on trading or selling anytime in the near future. We love it and ride whenever we can. I'd say our enjoyment level is way off the scale!!!!!!:yes::clap:

I started riding the Spyder when they first came out. 2008. I got the second one to hit Alaska. I was still into two wheels at that time. Now, I can only ride the spyder due to health issues. I do still have that longing for two wheels when the latest whizzbang comes out. Currently the Honda F6B.

I'm right there with you. I don't think I could ever trade in my Spyder for a new one unless something catastrophic happened.

I couldn't participate in the poll because none of the answers fit.

I love my Spyder but it is not the center of my universe.

My passion is snowmobiling and the Spyder is just an extension of that. A snowmobile for the open road, but not even close to being as fun as the real deal.

On a side note I just want to say, because of the Spyder I have met a lot of great new friends and that is priceless.

#2. Too old & unsteady for another 2 wheeler. This is about the only option I have if I want to continue riding.

I can't stop reading about all the problems people have with their Spyders & imagine them all happening to mine.

Think I would faint if I had to take it to a dealer as have done all my own maintenance on bikes & cars since 1958.

However, this is a complicated beast.

Comparing the results of this poll, vs the number of posts about its various issues and problems with dealer/service, I'd say we all have a love / hate relationship with our Spyders.

I WOULD have voted for #2, except for the phrase at the end. I very much enjoy having / riding my Spyder...every bit as much as I enjoyed my two wheelers over the years...but I'm not still learning the ins and outs of it. I've got it down pretty well.

But I didn't vote for #1, either, because I'm not obsessed with it...it's just like my previous bikes; I love riding but it's not the be-all and end-all of my life. I still have my guitars, my racing, cruising with my wife, etc, etc, etc...

The poll needed something in between 1 and 2...

;)
