Polk Audio speakers

Has anyone switched to Polk Audio speaker upgrades for the front and rear speakers on their RT?

I really like my 2012 RT, but when they say audio convenience, l don't believe I should have to pay for rear speakers, a CB radio and a few other items that I believe should be included. We already are paying a good price for the machine. My Harley's had Harman Karden radio with cd player, cb radio with one headset, and that was included in the price. And that is on the electroglide classic, nut the Ultra or limited.

I just put the Polk audio on the rear and will put the fronts on next week, they make a nice but not radical difference, i am happy with my choice

I think that Lamont had a thread about these... Isn't there some sort of foam cup that goes in there somewhere? I'm pretty sure that he had better sound quality with that removed.

I did. I replaced the fronts and added the rear using the polk audio on my 2010 RT AC. I did buy the rear speaker kit from BRP, just for the passenger controls, but you don't have to do that. It is already wired for the rear speakers.

The sound quality is better over the stock ones, but I still prefer to use my ear buds connected to my iphone.

i just did all 4 in i'm pleased with the sound but as stated by others if your doing 70-80 down the frwy you won't hear much as the system doesnt put out alot of volume,but when just cruzin around or sittin the sound is great going to install a inline amp for my xm so i can get more volume when at high speed riding wont help the fm but suppose to increase the xm in aux mode.

there was no foam cups in my 2011 rts..must only be on the ltd models??

I put all 4 Polk's in on the RT. Marginally better at low speeds - as other have said - 55+ you wont hear them. I would not do all that work again on the LTD for that minimal of an improvement.

I too bought a 2012 RT S and it came with rear speakers and rear volume controls. No CB but then I haven't used a CB for over 30 years. The Limited, I think correct name, comes with the CB and many other features. I have owned many Harleys and the only model that comes with the items you mention is the Ultra versions----do not know about the new models today but best I can tell from the catalog is that only the Ultra comes with the package you describe. My speakers on the RTS are very fine and have speed compensating ability. They work flawlessly so far. My last touring Harley was a 2003 Roadglide. It did not come with rear speakers, they did not control volume levels relative to speed and were tinny at best. You might try motorcycle junk yards for those rear speakers you lack. My RT S also has a connection in the rear trunk for plugging in an iPod or flash drive storage device.
