• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gerbing makes good gear. Alpine Stars is spendy but a step up. A budget way to go would be GEARS CANADA.

We carry all 3...

We bought these a couple of years ago and like them well enough. They do a good job of keeping you warm and the battery seems to last a good long time.

I purchased our gerbing jacket and pant liners that connect to the battery more than 10 years ago. Work like new. Did a quick look on the gerbing website and the price is just about the same as 10 years ago!

Whatever brand you select, get the type that works off the spyder's battery, not a stand alone battery. Run your heated gear directly off your spyder's battery with a fusible lead and a larger gauge wire than what BRP uses for their instruments. Also, I'd recommend skipping the vest style and go for the full jacket style. You won't be sorry.

Also, though the mesh grid is more expensive, it fits and works better than the snaked wire approach.

Never Bothered with heated gear, I bought a snowsuit off of amazon and some Joe Rocket Snowmobile gloves. I also use a Thermal balaclava for my head.

Although my fingers would start to get cold when I pulled into work which was about 25 minutes away on I-70, I never had any issues.

I was thinking about getting some hippo hands so the wind wouldn't cut through the gloves to give me more time before I needed to stop to warm up but the salt is already out around here.

Need to wait until we get a warm rain to wash the salt off the road.

Depending on the temperature, heavy gloves only work so long. Same goes for knees, in my experience. Without electric, you're going to get cold if you're riding distance. It is neat to be riding in sub-freezing temps all warm and cozy with eclectic gear. There is just something special about it. Some great and beautiful riding when it's dry and crisp that most never experience.

I see you are in Maryland. But your picture looks a lot like East Tennessee.

Yes, I have all my extra wiring running through that stuff.
One of the best investments I made was Baker Air Wings. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference they made in the comfort aspect of riding my spyder. Not so much in the summer heat but a HUGE difference in the fall and winter months. They totally eliminate the slipstream.

Pros and cons to most things in life. I went with a Gerbing 7V battery jacket from The Warming Store. The battery style gives me more flexibility in using the jacket. I'm not tethered to the bike so I stay warm when I get off. I can go to colder weather outdoor events, hikes, walks and so on. I bought an extra battery to extend the usage.

Haven’t tried yet but considering this interchangeable
