• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alright dltang, (Deb),
After seeing your avatar a gizzillion times, I decided I had to ask you a question and I think everyone here wants to know.
What's up with the avatar? It sure looks like you got that poor little kid by the shirt ready to rip him a new one. lol. I saved it in my pics and blew it up to see if that was the case. :D lol. But after a close inspection, it looks like you are helping him get his shirt on. Do you wanna clear this up for us? :)
I tried to post a pic of your avatar here but i couldn't get it to do it.
We wait for your response...:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

No... not realllly......

Duuuude.... she was on a missionary trip (Kenya I think)... She wrote about it once out here.. or at least made reference to why she was gone for a period of time.

I'm sure she'll chime in and clear this up for ya.....;)

Well, cool, it looks like everyone answered before me. But I will get specific to this picture for you.

You see in August here it is the winter in Kenya, they are cold and that is why the kids are wearing sweaters and some of them 2 & three shirts. I was very comfortable in the hight 70 degree and low 80 degree weather.

Anyway, I had just told them how Jesus always knows their heart. I had my stethoscope with me and I explained that Jesus does not need one of these to know their heart. Then I went on to tell them, I could use this instrument to to hear their heart. I asked if any of them had ever heard their own heartbeat. Of course, none of them had. If you look closely, you will see a large smile on this young man's face, that is the very moment he heard his own heartbeat and it made me smile so big too. I had a line of children after that wanting to hear their heartbeat, and a number of adults too. It was so fantastic. I want to go back one day.

Cool, Here is a larger photo in regular color to truly see what I am talking about.

Who is Jesus? (just kiddin')...oh, and he was a carpenter, not a doctor...and they didn't have stethoscopes back then anyway...rumor has it that they didn't even have the internet...but Al Gore fixed that for everyone! :D

I have friends from Kenya...Nairobi...it's supposed to be a nice city and apparently it's in quite high altitude so that there is no malaria problem...however, if you go to the shore (and that means lower altitude), you have to be quite careful as the critters can get you really sick!

Do you do missionary work? I have patients that travel the world doing that...they always have great stories and really enjoy their work...

I love it!!!

NICE DEB! I love it. Thank you so much for sharing and all you are doing for them. Talk about putting a big smile on my face and making me laugh out loud; You have just made my day!!! I'm sitting here with a tear in my eye and you have made my heart swell with love. I love your story and Pic!!!! God bless you Deb. Thanks again for the heart warming story. The avatar pic was so small so I had to ask. JW

Bone Crusher, you are right, he was a carpenter, not a doctor, and no they didn't have stethoscopes back then. That was the whole point of the story I was telling the children, Jesus can hear their heart and knows their heart no matter what. We don't have that ability and that is why we use the instruments of this world.

Yes, Nairobi is a very nice city, until you get to the area we visited. They say 90% of residents that live in the city have never been where we were and are afraid to go there.

Brian and I have been blessed to have each gone on two short term mission trips. We truly have a heart for them and hope to go on many more over the years. I would do it a lot more if finances allowed, that is for sure.

Thanks, Coolmachine, for asking the question.... I as well have seen the Avatar many times, but did not know what it was. The full picture is fantastic!! Thanks for people like this that help others in many ways.
