I found an I Pod shuffle ( told you not to laugh ) and since we have the integration cable for an I pod I am wondering if there is anyway or even if it would work on the spyder so I can control it from the dash ? I am techically challenged individual and am hoping there is a way. Thanks guys

Why don't you plug it in and try it? :dontknow:

I used one on our 2015 before I installed the XM radio. If I remember correctly I could control volume and skip to another tune.

on my 18,when plugged in,you can control volume only. That is with a nano

With the 30pin iPod connector you should have had more functionality:lecturef_smilie: also think there was 1 generation of nano that flat out NOT work. & the shuffle is small one also has a 30 pin & works fine on mine following instructions from Finless here:

OK, I won't laugh. But, what is an I-Pod Shuffle.....? (Don't laugh) I assume it is one of those new-fangled music thingies that replaced my beloved Lear 8-track.....? ..... Jim

Ok, well I think new fangled cassette tapes then CD’s replaced your 8 track and those are really old newfangled things. Then eventually in the 2000’s the ipods popped up. Various models, the shuffle is about the size of half a graham cracker.
From a newfangled standpoint it is really old too!

I had some great 8 tracks.... Donovan, Beatles, Stones, etc. Extra speakers in my 1965 Mustang HP 289 Hatchback GT. Wish I had them all today. I'd be a rich guy..... Jim

If you do a search for iPod shuffle to 30 pin adapter you will find options out there to solve your problem. Some are darn expensive for a little part but it should do the trick.

What kind of connection came with the bike? There should be an audio connection in the trunk I think. Usually round with multiple pins.

I think the answer you are looking for is in this recent thread; https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums...-Doesn-t-Work&highlight=round+audio+connector

I have a SanDisk, which uses the small USB connector ( rt side of trunk as you face it ) …. this may be the 3.5 mm of which you speak …… Mike :ohyea:

Dave,
Could you post a picture of your iPod Shuffle? Apple made four generations of the Shuffle.

The 3.5mm jack is for headphones. The 30 pin connector is for connection to the "included" dock, which is then connected to a PC or MAC via USB connector.

Do you actually have an Apple iPod or some other brand of MP3 player? If it is an iPod it'll have either the 30 pin jack or a Lightning jack. If it's the Lightning you can get an adapter to connect to 30 pin from Apple. If it's another brand of MP3 player you have no control available for it on the Spyder other than volume control of the audio system. In that case you need the adapter cord with a 3.5 mm stereo jack.
