Anyone been to MotoMember, Purcellville, VA. Service Shop for Wheel Align/balance?

I wanted to ask if any forum members have been to the Can Am Service Shop (MotoMember - Can Am dealership) in Purcellville, VA?

I need to have the wheel balancing checked and an alignment performed.

After some research here, it seems to be hit or miss with dealerships that actually know how to do a proper alignment.

The shop is about 1.5hrs from my home and I wanted to get some input before driving from PA to VA.

If you live near the Gettysburg, PA area. Maybe you know of a local reputable shop for Can Am wheel balancing and alignments?? The MotoMember in Chambersburg, PA does NOT do balancing or alignments.

**(I can physically see my handlebars pulsating when I let go of them on a flat surface road... I can't say I really feel a vibration when I am gripping the handlebars, but found it very odd to physically see my handlebars shaking like that around 45mph. I don't really consider it an alignment issue, since the Spyder drives/tracks straight and the tires have even wear. Verified both front tires are running at 15psi. So I am leaning towards a wheel balance issue or flat spots on the Kenda's because the Spyder was sitting for a year before I purchased it used. Tires now have 3,200mi on them).

I would take the front tires off and take them to a tire shop and have them rebalanced, and see what that will do for you!

Thanks Mikey!

I was thinking the same thing before spending all day driving to/from a distant dealership and waiting there hours for the work to get done, on top of spending a lot of cash for what could be a simple wheel balance issue.

Yup... Any auto tire shop will be able to balance your front tires, but not the rear due to small axle/spindle size.

I may be wrong on this issue but my front Kenda's on my 2017 have the recommended tire pressure of 20 LBS. Are the newer Spyders only requiring a 15 LB. pressure in them?

EX,

I thought I had read on the forum that people were running approx. 15psi in the fronts and 20psi in in the rear... which was giving good traction and tire wear on the OEM Kenda tires.

I may need to go back again and read what pressures people are using with Kenda's

Thanks!

;)

One of the best in PA.! https://motosportsinc.com/ Sales and service. Located in Hanover, PA.. Pam the owner is a real gem. Tom :spyder:

Thanks Tango!

My search was only pulling up the MotoMembers in Chambersburg PA, Berkeley Springs WV, and Purcellville VA.

Didn't know there was one in Hanover. :2thumbs:

Also find it odd, the Chambersburg location didn't recommend Hanover. They told me to go to Purcellville.

I'll also assume the center (BRP) dust cap can be taken off the wheels?

A local bike shop asked, since they shaft mount wheels for balancing (they do not mount the wheels with lug nuts).

I've never taken the wheels off a Can Am.

Tango...

I see now that the shop in Hanover is MOTO SPORT... not affiliated with the MotoMember group. That's why I didn't see their location.

I'll be headed to Hanover for an alignment if needed... and rear tire work if needed.

Thanks again.

28# recommended for the rear. You can verify with the # on the tires, or the owners manual.

I run 20 in the fronts with the Kenda. I have an car tire on the rear and run that at 18 LBS. But the Kenda tire the rear pressure should be 28 LBS.

Thank you for the replies everyone...

I'll take everyone's advice as Hanover, PA, is a much better option for me. It's only a 30 minute ride there.
