Hi all,
This is my first post on this site, but I've been lurking for several weeks since I am considering buying a new 2013 ST. First of all, I'd like to thank you all for the great site and all the information and help that is here.
I'm a die-hard sportbike rider and over the last year have developed vertigo at age 47. I currently own a very rare KTM Superduke R (one of two like it from KTM North America in the country) and a Triumph Speed Triple 1050. You can see pics and a description of the KTM here. http://home.windstream.net/thunderpunk/index.html
The last two times I took my bikes out, I was in a right-hand corner and it felt like the the front end was washing out. I almost went down both times. The second time was in a corner at 65mph. My foot involuntarily went to the ground causing me to get punted out of my seat and fighting for control of the bike as it head-shook me into the oncoming lane. To this day, I'm not sure if it was vertigo or sand/oil in the road that I did not see. Two times back to back after riding sportbikes for over a decade has me thinking it was my vertigo. I guess I'll never know. I'm thinking about selling the bikes and moving into a Spyder. The KTM is up for sale to the right buyer. I refuse to sell it to a noob.
Anyway, I went to the IMS in Atlanta this weekend to look at the Spyders. Specifically the ST. I gotta tell ya, the RS-S is looking really nice as well. I'm torn. I want one of each. The yellow has plenty of depth with the micro-flake paint. It's really nice. You can see it in the close-ups of the wheel fenders. The matte paint on the RS-S is stunning too. The re-designed fenders and bigger wheels do wonders for the look and stance of the bikes as well.
Anyway, here are the pictures. Some are a little blurry but they aren't too bad.
My daughter likes it already and wants daddy to take her for a ride. That's one foot in the door!
