There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pictures of Rear End Damage

Write off or Fix

Hey Danny, sorry I missed you at the ulysses AGM.

I hope they write it off so you can get a new 2011. with the amount of damage that can be seen in the pics, and with enough force to burst the rear tyre, you would have to think the frame could no longer be as was.
Good luck with the claim.
Cheers
Bob

does not look good - my bluedream is repaired now - (because the frame was ok ) but hte insurance had to pay for a new wheel/tire ..
be glad that you are fine (i had broken rips on the back - didn`t hold my handlebars when the car crashed me ..)

I hate to see that, but glad you weathered it OK. Let us know what the dealer and adjuster have to say when they make a decision to repair or replace.

Glad you are OK ! I would push the insurance co. to write it of . I would never be happy again after they fixed it .

Took a pretty mean hit. Glad you are having it thoroughly evaluated. One of my concerns when reading about these accidents is that dealers are not experienced in, or well-equipped to evaluate accident damage, and body shops are not familiar with Spyders at all. It takes a good tech and a lot of time to do things right.

Most of all, I am glad you are OK! On a conventional motorcycle, you might have been toast. Another testimony to the safety of the Spyder.

DeeKay53, Glad to hear your okay, that is the most important thing. When it comes down to it the Spyder is just a thing and things can be fixed. :D

All good advice above. Glad you came out all right with the accident. I also would be a bit worried about the frame and integrity of the rest of the vehicle. That looked like a pretty good shot. The comments about needing a good mechanic and body shop inexperience with :spyder2: are both right on. I would be skeptical of a repaired :spyder2: if given the option to total the wrecked one by the insurance company. Keep us informed about what happens.

questionable insurance estimate

I just went through a similar scenario. The appraiser the insurance company sent out was not familiar with motorcycles let alone knowing anything about spyders. It was necessary for the dealer to provide a knowledgable tech to help the adjuster to complete the estimate. This took 2 hours time and I had to pay that cost as the insurance company would not pay for what they called an additional estimate. Does not seem fair but that is life. Glad you did not have any physical injuries, the bike can be fixed or replaced we on the other hand take much longer to heal.

Zundapp Super Sabre

In 1962, the summer between my junior and senior year I rode one of these round trip from MN to CA to visit my sister. I sold all of my bikes except this one when I bought the spyder. Found it barn fresh about 15 years ago. Almost everything is stock plus it has the electric start. Still fun for a 50 year old bike.

Wow, Spyder is in bad shape. Glad to hear you made it through okay, as that is the most important thing. Please let us know how things turn out with the insurance.
