• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well since there are not many spyder ryders yet in British Columbia(Canada) I get stares like I am flashing everybody at Wimbledon:D Firstly I went and crossed the border into Blaine, Wa and all the Customs Officers gathered around the Spyder and held up all the lines while I expalined to them on what a :spyder:was. I must say that was really fun watching the people behind me get really ticked off because they had to wait:clap:

On my way back to Canada, I was cruising along at around 96mph when I noticed a car was alongside me for a mile or so, I looked over and saw 4 guys in a Jetta all holding I-phones recording me out their windows:2thumbs: that was funny.

Anyways, weather was good for 2 days and I am still smiling, my 2 wheels will be gathering some dust this summer.

I had a guy pratically climb out of his truck while driving on the Bay Bridge just to get a look at me. I got away from him quickly.

Those are great stories. I had a similar experience last September at the Detroit/Windsor Ambassador Bridge crossing. We were on our way to the "Spyders in the Smokies" Rally in Tennessee, and my wife and I were on my Kawasaki Concours, since I didn't have a Spyder at that time. Our friend Noukone was on his Spyder behind my bike. The Customs Officer hurried through his questions to me so he could bring the Spyder in to his bay. I pulled ahead, and when Noukone arrived, several other Customs guys wandered over. They were so busy asking him questions about the Spyder, no one demanded proof of citizenship or even asked him where he was going or how long he was planning to be in the U.S.!

There is no question these machines are still a great conversation piece!

We were followed home once and we have been followed several other times into parking lots where we were were stopping just so they could talk to us about it and take pictures. Also was pulled over twice, once by Santa Rosa Police and once by Highway Patrol for the same reason.

The other day I had a first. Some guy in the car next to me started yelling uncontrollable and bouncing around in his driver's seat. I thought that maybe the ash had fallen off his cigar into his lap or something. Jeesh, kinda freaky.:yikes:

Had some of the same things happened on my last trip from Cali to TX everbody has questions I think its kinda cool until you have to go to the restroom at the rest stop, some people don't understand when mother nature calls you have to go.lol:D Over all have fun talking to pepople about the:spyder2:.:spyder2:

Have a mini solution -- Kalavera, Littlebit, Shunkmanitu and myself attended the Pensacola Bike and Car Show this past weekend. Kalavera made an information sheet up on the Spyder. One side had information about our local Spyder club and SpyderLovers.com and on the other :spyder2: spec sheet. I now keep some in the trunk and when someone comes over at a gas station, parking lot or some other stopping place - I give them a copy of the sheet and verbally give them the highlites. When they want a picture I just smile - ain't it great being famous. :2thumbs:

I can't take full credit for the idea. Sabunim5 had a sheet that had all his mods and highlights of the bike. It gave me the idea to make the spec sheet/spyderlovers.com sheets. At the bottom it also had names, addresses and phone numbers of the two dealers in our area.
