Hey Everyone!
Last week I had a BRP hitch and factory wiring harness installed by a dealer on my 2014 RTL. Dealer attached the 4 square connector under my left side compartment as instructions show. I ask if there was any additional wire so that I could run the wire to the rear of hitch and was told that there wasn't any additional wire, so, I purchased a 4 square connector and made a jumper(adapter) to a 4 flat and cabled tied to rear of hitch. I'm not a happy camper with the way it looks. I'm thinking about mounting a 7 way blade to hitch and using only the 4 wires coming from the bike, then using a 7way blade connector to 4 way flat to accomadate the 4 flat coming from my trailer. I know the 7 blade is way overkill but they look much more durable. I found a 4 Round mountable connector but if was zinc plated and would eventually rust. The 7 blade is made of poly carbonate(plastic)which should last in the elements. Personally I'm not a fan of using 4 way flats, just would rather have something a bit larger (substantial) to hold onto when connecting trailer to bike. So before I go this route, I'd like to see the way y'all have mounted the bike trailer plug to the hitch. :helpsmilie: Does anyone have some type of twist off connector? Thanks in advance for you help!
