Picked up new 2016 RT-S Have question !!!!!!

Hello All !!!!

Picked up my leftover 2016 RT-S ,,,,,,,,, LOVE IT !!!!!!!! I know I can probably find that this question has been asked 1000x's but I have not found the answer on the surface...... Is the first oil change done at 600 miles as dealer suggests or at first 3000 miles...... Like many, I may donate to my dealer for the first oil change and do the rest myself...... Any responses would be great !!!!!

3000 miles for first service and oil change. You may want to ride easy and vary the RPM for the first 600 miles, but I pretty much rode mine as I always ride right from the start with no issues.

In the manual, it states first service 3000 miles it also explains how to or how you should ride for the first 600 miles

I'd definitely take it to your dealer for the first oil change/checkup.
They should be looking at a lot more than just the oil.
Belt, A Arms, Drive Pulleys.
All things that might cause premature failure while you're still under warranty.
After that........

Go to the dealer so they can install any software updates for your Spyder since it is a 2016.

The dealer has given wrong information. They either do not know or are trying to make an extra $300. The 600 miles break-in service only applies to 998 two cylinder machines.

Earlier posters have you covered. How to drive the first 600 miles or so, and the actual break-in oil change service at 3,400 miles. :yes: Then, one other point of confusion. Subsequent oil changes at 9,400 mile intervals OR once a year.
