• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Picked up my new Ryker

I'd say those results are well within the margin of error for the tach display, tire pressure and tire wear that is certainly different between the machines. It looks like nothing was changed. It was an interesting experiment though! Thanks!:2thumbs:

there is a new order number for the "LEVER SET" 420248704 - instead of 420248686 (price is around 150,-) but maybe they changed the mapping only for our Euro 6 Modells, they said it should need 10% less fuel than the old ones .. ???

Time will tell as far as actual fuel economy goes. There doesn’t seem to be any changes in gearing though. I guess it could just be a change to engine tuning. As long as these engines have been in use across all of BRPs product lines it seems unlikely they would suddenly find a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency with no significant changes.

On a side note, “Autonomy” has been changed to a more intuitive “Range”.

Ryker Changes for MY '21

Thanks for doing the test run and numbers, it will be interesting to see if there were any changes. Looking at them just from memory, it looks consistent with about what mine does, I'll check tomorrow.

According to my dealer, these are the engineering changes for the '21 Rykers:

The my21 Ryker has a new screw type fuel cap as well as a new fuel tank to avoid dirt insertion. The fuel cap is the same as used on Spyders.

The CVT air inlet cover now have a cable to secure the cover in place

New ramps profile to lower the RPM at cruising speed for noise reduction. The 903 will use the same governor cup and slider shoes as the 602.

This specific new cam help to reduce 90% of the « clunk » noise when the clutches engage.

Improvements of the powertrain are a 90% reduction of CVT activation noise. Aswell as NVH (Noise Vibration Harschness) reductions at cruising speeds These improvements are acheived through new hardware components and improved calibration

Headlamps fuse changed from 15A to 20A

New rear wheel speed sensor that is unique to Ryker rear wheel application, not used on other BRP products

My records show 5540 RPM at 60 mph and 6380 RPM at 75 MPH for my 2019 model. It does not appear that BRP has changed the final drive ratio or clutch weights.

Apples and oranges?

The new clutch weights are more to reduce the <CLUNK> to a <clunk> and get rid of a lot of the chatter when the drive engages.

Mapping has also changed a bit to reduce rpm at highway cruising speed.

PS - rumor has it the new weights have replaced the old ones in the catalog and should be used in the shop if you need repair work done. That should explain the similar parts number for older models? Should be interesting to compare the new catalog with one that predates the new weights.
