• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Picked up my new oil change access panel and grill

Complex..!!

we have an RS and gotta say you all have it rough...three twists and two drain plug and three bolts for the filter done. Although I take lower panels off to avoid oil drips. Glad you got it all set now it will be easier for you next time...!!:thumbup:

I just did my first oil change on my 2012 RTS. It has the old style panel on it. First time, going slow and taking my time and notes, I was done in 3 hours, including drilling the hole in the plastic support for a long handled 5mm T to access the trans filter bolt. I could do it again in about 1.5, I think. I agree the new panel would have been the shiznit, and would make an oil change about an hour.

Have your dealer put the panels on. If they don't know what it is, tell them BRP has a tech line to call.

Little help...

Question: What if you never got this "voucher" from BRP?

Now what? Is my only option to have to pay for something I should have gotten in the first place?

Any helpful info appreciated. Thanks guys.

PS: I've mentioned this to the service dept at my dealer more than once and each time he had no idea what the deal was. Last time, I even watched him go through his binder with all the BRP bulletins for the bike and he couldn't find anything on it.

I'm in the same boat. Never got a voucher in the mail. More than willing to just order the kit and pay for it .... But need the proper part number(s).
I believe I heard they only cost around $35.

i was at the motorcycle mall in belleville nj on saturday

I swear nobody has read or looked at anything I posted in this thread. :dontknow:
i never recieved a coupon from brp so i called them they sent me a letter to present in leiu of the coupon the would not give it to me for free it had to be done with the service so i paid them 119.00 for oil & filters and the panel they normally get 98.00 for the oil change and filters and when i asked if they checked it for updates and all the fluid levels the said that takes more time and cost extra i love the spyder but this dealer is %$%^$ killin me he acts like they are doing me a favor at almost 26 k for this bike i wanna be a crosstown rival so i can close them down ...ps oil change and carwash for my escalade esv at the caddy dealer was 32.00 come on now

i had all that done on saturday

Folks, I gave the dealer $130 yesterday and heres what I got in return:
New panel installed free,
New transmission cover, filter, O ring,
New filter for motor and O ring,
New crush washers for two drain plugs and a
Grease job for front end.

I furnished my own oil. It also included a bunch of checks: tires, lug nut torque, etc.

Had I skipped these minor checks, which I would have had I understood in advance, I could have shaved about $30 off the price. Seems like a fair price to me.
i paid 119.00 they supplied eveything

Models included for new panel.

What models and production dates are included under the replacement body panel for easier oil change. I just purchased a new 2012 RT S a week ago. Would it have the new panel installed, or will I receive a voucher for the panel?

I had my RTS in for a Tbone replacement in the windscreen motor hinge. The dealer gave me this new package of a lateral easy change oil panel.

The honeycomb part is all that is needed. The lower panel (curves at the shifter) is THE MOST STUPIDEST, F%$$@'n WORST DESIGNED part I have ever seen!

It relies on the upper panel to hold it in. Well what if that upper panel clip was broken... well you cant use this new lower part. IT NEEDS TO BE ATTACHED! with SCREWS! Geesh... come on BRP designers... you can do batter than this! I've see you do it!

Needless to say, I skipped it. easly. Geesh.

I too did not receive a coupon or anything in the mail. I wrote BRP about this, and this is their reply. Grammar and such is their fault, not mine.

Thank you for contacting BRP.
