There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Picked up a 2010 RT-622 Trailer Friday

Lava Flow

I found this 2010 Trailer on eBay last Thursday from smith marine USA up in New Britain, PA he had it listed as bid or by it now with a reserve of $2400.00 after watching it for a day the price had gone to over $1000.00 so I bit the bullet and paid the $2400.00 for it. It was a 34 hr drive up and back to get it before the storm hit. It has never been tagged still has the 2 year warranty from BRP and the water leak kit has already been installed.

Well now comes the fun part of taking the trailer apart sanding it and painting it Lava Bronze Metallic to match my Spyder so far after all said and done I’ll have around $3000.00 in it total.

For what its worth, here is a tip on the stone chip protector. When we painted my wife's orbital Blue trailer to match her Lava Bronze we decided not to re-apply the expensive mylar BRP stone chip protector after painting. Instead we applied a coat of bed liner to the same area and that seems to offer better protection for the trailer and it is quite a bit cheaper than the BRP mylar.

Thanks for the tip Double Trouble, it does match the front stone guard and like you said a lot cheaper than the mylar from BRP.

I purchased a black 2010 RT-622 back in August, did the same stripped it down and had it painted lava bronze.

I ended up saving the plastic stone card, used the wife's hair dyer on low and took my time pealing off. Then cleaned up inside and bought some double sided 3m tape from Lowe's and re-applied after it was painted. Looks just as if did when new so if your careful you can save your self some money.

The mylar I could not save, again low heat pealed it off, Honda East Toledo (site sponsor) got me the replacement, It retails at $184.99, they sold it to me for $138.99. Still expensive for what it is but I called around and would have cost twice as much to have it custom cut. Had the body shop that painted the trailer apply the film.

Very pleased with me RT-622 but I have to admit I miss my Jason Ion felt there was more room and easier to pack than the RT-622. The jason just had torsion bar as suspension so it bounce a lot the RT-622 Rides better.

There is a door stopper type rubber foot on the bottom of the hitch bar, I highly recommend add two to the rear while you have it apart, it bottoms really easy while moving it around.

I also purchased a new 2010 (still in the crate) Timeless Black trailer on Friday for $2400.00 from Blackmans Cycle Center in Emmaus, PA. They were finishing the assembly upon my arrival and included the water management kit. It was a 9 hour round trip drive but worth it. I called just about every dealer within a 6 hour drive looking for a good deal on a late model or demo trailer and stumbled on this one.

I now need the hitch to arrive which is on back order.

I have ordered a 2013 Limited, Blackcurrent color. I am considering painting my silver RT-622 trailer to match. For those who have painted their trailers, how much paint do I need to paint my trailer?

Us paint and need 1qt and some sealer to lay down first. That's all.. Good luck take you time on the job.
