• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WELL SATURDAY PICKE UP MY FRIST SPYDER SO FAR LIKE IT ALOT ONLY HAVE ABOUT 40 MILES ON IT ADJUSTED FRONT SHOCKS AND TIRES STILL GOT TO GET MORE SEAT TIME ONLY THING THAT I REALY NOTICE WAS TAKING X-WAY OFF RAMPS HAD TO SLOW WAY DOWN NOT AS COMFETABLE AS I WOULD LIKE ANY SUGUSTION WOULD HELP ;)

Welcome aboard

Some suggestions: Turn off the Cap Lock key on your computer, please. Also if you check your owners manual and the DVD's that come with your Spyder, there are helpful suggestions for safe driving and also a driving course you can follow that is a big help in learning about your bike. Take it slow; practice in empty parking lots and not on the Interstate. How about pictures of your new machine? Don

Welcome.jpeg A lite grip on the handlebars & a firm grip with your knees will help. I cant post the link using Android, but if you do a search, theres a great thread for noobs to the Spyder called DO'S AND DO NOT'S for new ryders, something like that. Lots of great info. :congrats: & :welcome:
ENJOY THE RYDE:cheers:

Have to agree..!!

:agree: find the roads less traveled to practice and learn. Plenty of time for the major byways...
Don, I may be slow but I'm ahead of you...:roflblack::roflblack:

Take your time and take advice to our members. You'll have more fun later. It happened to me what a new spider rider experienced. "Do and Don't for new owners" is a must to see.

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new ryde. Like others have suggested: Watch the video, read the manual. Do a little parking lot time to get the moves and the feel of the the new :spyder2:. I then recommend heading out to lesser traveled roads if possible for another hundred miles or so. Then, onto other roads and get in miles at the 55 or so range. As your confidence builds, its onward to a mixed bag of driving.

The thread for do's and don'ts for new ryders is good. Don't have the link here--but someone will come on with that.

A light grip on the bars also aids in better control of the Spyder. Most take 500 to 1000 miles before everything becomes natural. Those with two-wheel experience are at the higher end of the spectrum. I was not real comfortable for about 1500 miles.

Keep us posted.

In turns, especially tight ones, you may do better if you lean your upper body into the turn. Think of it as trying to kiss the knuckles on the fingers of the hand toward the turn. Pushing down hard on the footpeg facing away from the turn , like you were skiing, helps some folks too.

Look into your turns

Do not look at what is in front of you but look “into" your turns. Focus about 100-200 feet in front of you; where you look is where your mind will have your muscles steer the machine. Too many times new riders tend to focus on what is immediately in front of you. If you are looking at “it" you will hit “it”. You will get more comfortable by the mile. Take it nice and slow and day by day. Congratulations.
