• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Phone mount for center of bars - what size allen key to undo h/bar bolts?

Purchased a tracform phone mount that will be mounted to center of bars. Does anyone know what size allen bit is used to remove one of these screws.

You don't say what year and model Spyder you're talking about but a quality 7mm Allen should fit both F3 and RT. Those bolts are heavily dosed with a 3M thread locker.

I've never had to remove one but I've read hereon about some folks recommending heating the bolt(s) with a soldering iron to soften the thread locker and do have a long breaker bar handy.

I have changed mine out, but make sure you use a good tight fitting Allen wrench. I prefer to use Allen head sockets to standard wrenches.

I have replaced one of mine with a stud and coupler to mount a RAM ball to. The bolt didn't come out that hard - I used a long Allen socket and ratchet.

Yes

I also used a socket type Allen wrench (craftsman). I have see some with a lot of chamfer on the end which seems to reduce the amount of contact buy lifting it slightly up from the bottom of the hole. Mine are pretty much flat on the end.
I used a long breaker bar and proceeded slowly. Keep the tool firmly seated and aligned. Easier than I thought it would be.
