Phantom 14 is on the prowl!

Well, The journey has begun. After getting the "details" out of the way (insurance, etc. 'nuff said!) I was free to ride Phantom 14 into work. I have been riding the RS-S for a while now. But this ride was different. Every bike has its own persona, its own reality. I was experiencing this reality for the first time, and it was amazing.

I was torn at first, because I was used to the RS-S; We have been through alot together. So in a way it almost felt like betrayal to be on a different bike. But within a few blocks that all melted away. Knowing that the RS-S was in my Wife's hands now, knowing she was still in the family made it OK. I was free to experience Phantom 14 guilt-free! With each shift, each mile, #14 was slowly becoming mine. The sounds, the smells, the feel; #14 was becoming mine.

Of course I am still breaking 14 in, so I had to be gentle, but that was OK. No need to rush things. there will be plenty of time for the hard stuff. We were bonding, and it fealt good. The real fun started ater work. 14 and I went on a 145 mile putt that took us through the woods, the ocean, the fog and every single curve, bump and undulation that the Northern California coast road had to offer. And it was kind of spiritual. By the time I got home, I was at peace. This is the Spyder experience, and 14 and I are off to a great start.

The journey has now begun, and I am anxious, no, hungry for what tomorrow brings. And 14 will be waiting.

Thanks all! Please forgive me if I was waxing a bit rapsonic there, but I am truly thrilled by these machines and being able to get back in the wind. A broken back 23 years ago pretty much took me out of the 2-wheel game, so to have the oppurtunity to ride again means more than words can express. 14 sure seems to like bein out of that showroom as well!! :D

BTW, I pulled off into one of the local beaches and snapped just a few pics to remember the occasion. They are out there if you even remotely interested! LOL!!

Ugh! You bought that at EB Motorsports? I'm sorry..... I've not heard anything good about that place. I hope they treat your right. Might want to consider using California Speedsports in Livermore for service. Just food for thought. :doorag:

Nice ride. :2thumbs:

I know, huh? I've heard all this negative stuff about them, but so far we are 2 purchases in and I have been totally satisfied with how things are going. I'm building relationships with my tech Brian, all the parts guys, and so far so good. I really have no negative things to say about them. Let's hope it continues. I am also aware of Mike up in Livermore. I have spoken to him as well, so it's good to have a plan B...

Thank you Sir. Talk about Photogenic... Look at your machine! Now that's poetry in motion! That is one beautiful machine brother

Thanks for the compliment. I worked on it some more yesterday, and now have some new lighting mods installed that are very cool as well. I need to get some pictures this morning, and update my mods thread. :D

Cool! Can't wait to see them. I installed my Hindle this morning (In the posted pics the stock pipe is still on) and I went ahead and installed the Sport Touring Shield. It looks really nice! So I'll take updated pics and post so y'all can see. BTW, I LOVE THIS HINDLE!! Spydergirl was right about it. The stock pipe sucks compared to the Hindle. Great sound, fantastic performance, it's the bomb!! :2thumbs:
