• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pet Carrier options

Are you looking for something that you can take off and put on without much hassle or a permanent carrier like CincySomething (can't recall his handle)?

Hi, they have car dog seats, with four sides, cushion bottom, vented sides and the dog can be hitched in. in a car, a seat belt can be put through the back for security, in our case a bungee or the down would. work.

I use a Kyuryakin (spelling) Pet Palace. I strap it into wife's seat. When she goes with I hook it to a deflector rack on the trunk. Whiskey, the dog, not the drink, the dog is named Whiskey. Whiskey likes it. He wears his Harley vest/harness, rides in the pet palace and off we go!

I don't know the max, but my Havanese weighs about 13 or 15. It would hold a very heavy dog, the carrier is very solidly built. I am guessing maybe 20 pounds or so.

We have a Havanese also. He has been on the back of Motorcycles and our Spyder since he was only a few months old. He is 5 1/2 now.
We use and sell the Kuryakyn Pet Palace. Our Havanese is about 13 lbs. The Pet Palace is rated for dogs up to 20 lbs. They will hold whatever size you can put in there in reality.
We only sell it with two leads, they only come with one. From experience you absolutely need your pet attached from opposite corners with the leads. They will have enough room to move around, put their head and shoulders out. If attached from only one side they have enough lead room to go out that side, which is a very bad thing.

Teresa usually has him on the back behind her, but on occasion if we are both going he has been on the defector rack. You get a whole lot of people taking pictures with him up there on the Expressway.

this option is nice but I really want my pup in the back seat, not the back trunk... but I do like the idea.. would be cool if someone could make a clear or semi-clear rear trunk cover replacement, with that opening and a small windshield..

I have been pursuing the pvc model that someone else has done - i've only gotten the frame of it done, next I have to make the flip up cover

Would you like to call it a "cockpit canopy"? for your furry friends.
If one could be added to Don's setup; it'd be awesome! :2thumbs:

I would like to get something like this for my Shih Tzu who has ridden with me for 11 years. Initially, on the rear passenger seat of my Goldwing and now on the rear passenger seat of my 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S SM5.

My dog holds perfectly still and doesn't move around a lot, but my present system would probably freak a few of you out!

Something like this makes a lot of sense, but I am curious about mounting it to the passenger seat, i.e. how it is strapped in, etc. I tried to find instructions on your website as well as the original manufacturer's website, but couldn't. Before ordering, I would like to know how this is supposed to work.

Are there instructions you can link to? Or better photos. Quite frankly, the OEM site had a black carrier against a black background. Pretty pictures, but no contrast so you could easily tell how this connected to the Spyder. Also, didn't see photos matching it to a RT anyway. Perhaps I missed those?

Can you help me understand how this hooks up to the rear seat?

You can reply here or send me a PM. Thanks!

UPDATE: Of course after I had written this, I found the online instructions. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Apparently, there is a model 4198 and 4199. When I clicked on the link for 4199, the instruction sheet has 4198. When I click on the instruction sheet for the 4198, it says GREY so I assuming the bags are the same, just one is black and one is GREY. They apparently did not update the instruction sheet for the black model.
