• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Perplexing symptom

On several occasions, after accelerating hard (full throttle) and then suddenly backing off the throttle, the Spyder shuts down as if the key were turned off or the kill switch was turned on. After a few seconds the thing will come back on sputter a few times and then run fine. The first time I noticed this was when passing a line of trucks, I was running 100 mph plus, and when It was clear to pull back in my lane I rolled the throttle back quickly and the engine shut down for a few seconds:pray: (pretty spooky) and then came back on and ran fine the rest of the day. Since that time it has happened a couple more times, different situations but same scenario (full throttle then back off suddenly). I am wondering if there is something going on with the nanny. Has anyone experienced anything similar or any ideas.:gaah:

I too have something similar, but it occurs under different circumstances. Occasionally while upshifting my RTs with the SE5 tranny, the machine seems to die for about a second-and-a-half before the next gear registers on the display and engages. This can happen while going from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th with plenty of RPMs. It's disconcerting to say the least. I never experienced this before the clutch bearing recall.

Yep I call them pregnant pauses..for me usually at lower gears..have mentioned to dealer and he says haven't heard of problem. Hmmmm
I drive 2010 RTSE5.. Maybe there is a PROBLEM...it is :yikes:

It may be the settings on your JB causing this as I had similar experience .If I remember correctly setting 5&6 should be set 1-2 increments apart ,it seems if set the same it will cause above mentioned problem.Try a search as a few others [Seth,Firefly]discovered this was a problem.

Could be...The problem I had with cutout and the JB would occur also with 5&6 settings too close but mine would cut out at higher rps and full throttle. Also check for possible GPS problems, just a thought.

:agree:

That is exactly what the problem is. I had the same thing-- and you must make sure those settings are NOT the same. Seth told me about it--- made the changes and the problem is now gone. It used to scare the crap outta me when passing...... and it didn't do it all the time.

What happens is the JB gets confused between WOT and Accelerate settings and just cuts out totally if those two settings are the same.

That makes sense. Yes, my JB settings for 5&6 were the same----They aren't now. Thanks firefly and all others for the good info.nojoke

The farther apart the setting are the less often the issue occurs. Someone stated that when the are 3.5 apart it no longer happens. I have mine 3 apart and occasionally I experience the issue around 100MPH but nowhere near as often as when they were the same.
