• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Perform Alignment before or after swaybar install?

Is it better to have the Laser Alignment performed before or after adding the BajaRon swaybar? I don't want to waste $$ redoing it. I understand that "Squared Away" will be at SITR and I can hopefully get an alignment done, but don't think I can order and install the swaybar before the trip up there.
So which comes first, if I am going to get both? Does it make any difference?

It would be better to get the alignment after the install of the new swaybar. With the new Heim joints being part of the kit, you should count the threads on the old heim joint, and try to have that many threads exposed when you install the new ones. That should have things almost back to the way it was before you started the swap, so you will be able to ride the bike to get it aligned. If you plan on trailering it to the dealer, still wait until after the new sway bar is in to save $$.

It doesn't matter...
The tie-rods set the alignment, and they are unaffected by the presence of the antii-swaybar...

As Bob said, the sway bar install does not effect alignment. Also the end links are ball joint on both ends, there is no adjustment or thread length involved.

Here's what you do..!!

if your doing both and to feel better about it..do it after the install. It makes no difference but it's all front end work. Both will help the handling of your roadster...you will be pleased..!! :2thumbs:

There has been too many people agreeing with Bob....Something must be happening in the world and it can't be good. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:agree::agree: Had the BajaRon swaybar installed & then had the Laser Alignment done. Big difference in handling. If you haven't done it yet, Giit 'Er Done.

I try very hard NOT to agree with Bob. I can't put my finger on it, but it just doesn't feel right.

But, you can't argue the facts, and when he's right, he's right...

Everyone will be in touch...

The planets must be aligning, causing an interruption of the space time continuum.

It's really quite scienterYfeck... ;-)

Bob I agree with you 100% that the tie rods set the Alignment, and that is why they are adjustable. BUT, the sway bar in and of itself does affect handling, and I think that it is prudent to have an Alignment done after the installation of - for example - a BajaRon Sway Bar - to ensure that everything is "up to snuff".
