There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pensacola Motosports service report

Hi guys, just wanted to give a quick report on P.M.S. (gotta love the symbology!) I took my spyder in for its 1st service....i had some warranty issues: shift issue which happen a couple of times, emergency brake, burn spot on muffler and 12 volt dc adapter didnt work.....the service cost 160.67 which i was originally quoted 120 something. They said that they used synthetic so thats the price difference...brp covered the heat shield to cover the burn spot and a fuse for the 12 v plug, the y fixed the emergency brake and replace a gear swensor and switch to fix the shift....

so far i am overall pleased with them...the only negative was getting quoted 120 and it being 160....but i ll take them at their word at it being the synthetic.....

Aubie;

You are lucky I was quoted $230 for my first service at PMS and it was $260. So IMHO you got a great deal.:2thumbs:

Have no idea but too late for me to worry about it now. My biggest concern is my next oil change - wonder about the cost?? I guess I will just have to drop by and see what they are going to charge and if its too much I will do it myself (not mechanically inclined so I worry about doing it myself).

well so far i have been pleased with them

:cheers:When I picked up my red SE5 in oct. I was quoted $299 for the 1st service, plus the cost of the oil & filter. You guys got away cheap.Thats the price up in the great white & cold north( Canada )

Quoted $120 but charged $160 and they said its because of synthetic oil? Is this the first Spyder service they've done? I guess the price isn't outrageous but they should have known beforehand that the BRP recommended oil is synthetic 5W40. :dontknow: If they did the valve check and the other first service checks along with the oil and filter change, $160 is still a good price.

UPDATE

Picked up Spyder after a couple of weeks...drove home about an hour away, got off the interstate and the thing had trouble shifting down to first.....yesterday went to put it in the shed and it started in gear...its supposed to auto kick out to n when started...not good...then took awhile to get into r.....much worse than when i took it in.....called p.m.s and i have to bring it back.....hopefully they get it right this time....its a two hour round trip.....

I see you live in Mobile. How come you didnt go to Gulf Shores Power Sports? Just curious. Gotta be closer than coming all the way to pensacola

I know the oil change at my dealer is right at 100$

I got ya. Like I said I was just curious. I am coming up on my first service and my wife's spyder is due for one now. We haven started comparing the prices from both places yet.

My cost was much higher. :(

My first time in was $350. OUCH. Don't really understand the high price. The darn vehicle is new, what needs to cost so much? Kinda gets in my crawl.... But what ya gonna do? I love the thing. Jerry

They probably charged you between $100 - $150 for the high dollar BRP oil, the filter, gasket and crush washers. The rest was labor. :sour:

My personal experience with PMS has been good so far. They have sold and serviced a lot of Spyders compared to many other dealers. All dealers have the BRP tech training and service bulletins, available to them, but there are not any really experienced Spyder mechanics out there anywhere. At least PMS has serviced an above average number of Spyders, so IMHO they are a little further along on the learning curve. Ryde Safe and Enjoy :thumbup:
sabunim5 :spyder:

My first service at 625 miles cost $306 for the SE-5. They changed the oil and filter, but DID NOT change the transmission filter. I thought that Harley prices were high!
