• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all,
been doing my research, lurking on several forms.
I've talked with several dealers also.
What's a good price on manual shift spyder?
I'm hearing 15K not including tax for an 09 on another forum.
I'm in Oh

welcome

I got one of the first ones and I paid 17K+ out the door. If you can get one for 15K that would be a good deal. :doorag:

Thats a deal and now Sales Taxes on the Spyder can be deducted on your Federal Income Tax (Stimulus) welcome:congrats::2thumbs:

If you get a 2008, do so...check ebay...you might be able to beat 15k...as far as new, there was the ole famous BRP price increase of about $1000.00 for 2009 models...(somewhere around there)...

No matter what you do...get one...it's worth whatever you pay...

The bike is a blast!

I heard from a friend last week that he had a friend that bought a dealer demo (Premier Edition) for around $13,000. nojoke Basically a new Spyder. Please don't give me any flack for posting "a friend of a friend said..." reports. :D

You should be able to get $1000 off MSRP without a lot of haggling. Some dealers are even getting closer to $2000 off as we get near the end of the month.

So, on an '09 your negotiations would begin at these numbers:

SM5 Moon = $16,199 - 1000 = $15199
SM5 Red or Yellow = $16599 - 1000 = $15599
SE5 Moon = $17699 - 1000 = $16699
SE5 Red or Yellow = $18099 - 1000 = $17099

I had the Daytona dealer offer 2200 off on a Red '09 SE5 but their "fees" sucked up 250 of that 2200. We ended up buying a leftover 2008 Yellow SE5 from First Coast in St. Augustine for $14,000 OTD with my wife's 1999 SV650 trade. That was a net discount of 2100 on the lower 2008 SE5 base price and a trade valued at 3000. We only paid $3000 for the SV650 4 years ago so we're happy with the deal. :2thumbs:

One other thing to consider. If you don't have to have a brand new Spyder, there are some nice used ones out there at good prices. One just popped up on this forum's For Sale threads. Most of the time with a used Spyder, you are getting extra value in the mods that are done on the bike.

I paid less than $11K for a used with Hindle (but added $2K worth of mods since). So I didn't really save that much.:D If you got cash, you can really wheel and deal in this economy.
