• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Spyder died at about 4:15 pm today. No one else was hurt. The house and truck had some heat damage, but it could have been much worse.

There was no warning of any impending problems. Everything seem to be perfectly normal. The fire started on the right side, just as I pulled into the garage. Three minuets later and I would have been in the house totally unaware of a fire in the garage. I turned off the ignition and pushed the Spyder out of the garage.

What the??? I'm glad your house was mostly okay and nobody was hurt...I am sorry to hear about your Spyder loss...did it start from the exhaust igniting something as you went into the garage??

HOLY CRAP!!!

I am paranoid about things like that happening and now I can say, see... it happened to someone.
I am not paranoid... it can happen.

Any idea how it started? Exhaust?

I have heard of peoples car catching on fire while in the garage.

Yeeeeeouch! So very glad your timing was good and you and the house wer both spared, and so very sad to hear about your PE. I hope you get another Spyder, though.

How much do you want for the right front. Just kidding glad you are OK did the fire department say what started it? I am sure we would all like to know.

I am very sorry about your spyder. i noticed that your truck has a florida plate. What part of florida are you by. It has been very dry and hot down in South Florida do you think the elements had any role in this or what do you think happend

Sorry about your spyder, but it can be replaced. Glad everyone and the house is ok.

That is by far the gnarliest mod I have ever seen!!
Just kidding.
Glad to hear no one was injured.
Hope everything was covered and you find out what happened!

So glad you are safe and that your house was not damaged. Did this fire actually start while you were on the spyder or just after you got off? Was the spyder running or had you turned if off already. So many questions. I suppose it doesn't really matter, what matters is that you are safe.

Sorry to hear about your Spyder, good that you got it out of the garage, and that your family is okay. Do you have any way of finding the cause?

WOW! So glad you were able to remain calm enough to get it out into the driveway without getting hurt. Looks like you had a Corbin seat too!

I believe accidents like this have to be inspected by the NTSB to find out the cause. Considering it started on the right side I would wonder if the evaporation canister had a part in this.

Let's hope this doesn't become a modern 'Pinto' problem.

CONTACT HOMELAND SECURITY, Looks like the work of...

A Suicide Spider :spyder: Aka Homas Spider
(not to be confused with Hamas)

All kidding aside thank G-D you or your family are ok.

With respect, Motza
