• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Passport runs?

Hi spyder lovers,

I'll be attending the Spyderfest in Cuba and didn't know what the passport runs were. Do you sign up for them in advance or just show up? Is there a fee for them or do they come with your registration? Thanks for your help and can't wait to see everyone there.

The passport run is simply a visit to the participating sponsors in the community to get your "passport" booklet stamped
The fully stamped passports were then used as the entries for door prize drawing on the final night.. I believe the passport was either included in registration fee or may have had a $5 charge at most.. What you get at Spyderfest for the money yu spend is an amazing bargain

Ditto to Biker Doc comment

I got the privilege of selling (some of you required a little advanced marketing persuasion techniques but figure this year you will be an easier sell!!!) the passport books at last years Spyderfest registration.
Besides a great way to enjoy the community, local businesses, local folks (oh yea and the potential to win some INCREDIBLE prizes)...the $$ raised goes to a great local benefit for underprivileged kids. SUWEEEET deal...win/win for all. Last year you could buy up to 10 passports per person...so start saving your coin...and plan on INVESTING heavily....so worthwhile from all angles...see you in Cuba in a few weeks...:thumbup:

The Passport Ride and Spyders on the Greens both raised money for charity. I participated in both last year and won prizes on both. They were really fun events and I'm looking forward to doing them again this year. Last year the charity was Friday Backpacks (or something like that). They send underprivileged kids home with nutritious meals on the weekend.

This refers to Spyderfest 2011 in Cuba, MO this April. The main link is on the home page. The grand prize last year was a free custom paint job. :yes:I forgot my punched passports at my hotel in Rolla and missed out on that part:banghead:. As previous posts state, you go around to Spyderfest sponsors and have a passport stamped. You can buy your passport at check-in. VERY well worth the price. The passport and door prizes were great . I got one of the smallest prizes and still received one worth more than the registration fee for the whole event.

Don't forget that there are multiple different passport runs this year each with a different grand prize. It will be well worth your time and $$$ to do each of them.

Thanks for the information on the passport runs everyone. It sounds like a win-win for all. Now if April would hurry up and get here so we can all get together for rides and fun.

The only greencard needed are the ones with the dead Presidents on them. Definitely a bar gone. What is really nice is the participation of the local businesses. They are friendly and nice.
