• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passing of a dear friend and "Spyder Lover"

I'm sure I just don't know how fast news travels on this forum, but I wanted to let you know that a dear friend to me and my wife, Dick Riedel of Mentone, IN has passed away.
He loved his Spyder and this site, and you all. He talked about the people he has met thru this website constantly. He had, just two weeks before, been involved in a terrible accident where a young boy on a bicycle darted out in front of his truck, killing the boy. While this event hurt this community deeply, his faith in God was unwavering, and despite some local assumptions, he did NOT "hurt himself". Dick (known here as Dick574) died of a stomach aneurism and was immediately transported to Heaven on Thursday evening, July 31st. He was also a member in good standing with the Christian Motorcyclists Assoc. and of our local chapter, The Blood Bought Bikers of Warsaw, IN.

Here is his obituary:

If this is not the appropriate place to post this, please move it to the category it is best suited for. I just thought you all should know.

My prayers for him and his loved ones.

A stomach aneurysm . . . that explains something on my last physical. My doc sent me for an ultrasound of my abdominal aorta. She said every man over 65 should have them as part of their physical, because abdominal aortic aneurysms can be common in older men. The abdominal aorta is the largest blood vessel in the body and the main artery that originates in the heart. As the lining weakens from age and other risk factors, the vessel wall thins and expands.

Perhaps those of you who are over 65 should ask your doc about this simple test.

Thank you for posting....Dick was a friend and Spyder ryder...he will be missed...loved him...always a smile on his face....prayers for his family

I'm not sure where I've been but I missed the first thread of Dick's passing. I am shocked. It was only a couple of weeks ago I passed Dick on his blue RT on a highway in Michigan. I was in my car and I imagine he was headed home just I we were. I will always remember him as a most caring and genuine person. He seemed most happy when he was on his Spyder headed somewhere to help someone or just congregate with other spyder ryders. He was always such a pleasure to be around.
God Bless Dick 574:pray:
