There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Passenger's opinion of utopia backrest

I'm about to have a utopia backrest installed on my RT Limited.
Pretty sure I'm going to appreciate it when my wife and I take 200+ mile day trips like the one this past weekend.
But I'm curious what passengers think about it. My wife is about 5', pretty small.

Afterall, I wouldn't have this new toy if she wasn't for it.
And I want to keep her comfortable.

You won't go wrong. I had mine on the 2010 and moved it to my 2013 (whole seat). My wife (before she got her :spyder2:) didn't bother her, and she's 5'6 and not-petite;)

Good to know. 5"6" is a good bit taller than my wife

(Hmmm...could this mean another :spyder2: is in my (wife's) future?)

My wife is about 5' and she loves it! Add the diamondR armrests and she will be so comfy back there you might hear her snoring!:ohyea:she actually says it gives her a sense of security.

:agree::agree: You will love the Utopia backrest:yes: I had mine installed last year at Spyderfest on my 2011 RT Ltd. my wife is 5"1" and she has no problems. It's fantastic for the rider. My back feels great. Both of you will love it!

Good news.
Hope to be enjoying the backrest this weekend.:ohyea:
My back does get a bit sore after 100 miles or so. Decay, can't seem to avoid it.

Your gona love it... The wifey has her own :spyder2: but sometimes goes out with me. Shes 5'7" and somewhere between 159 and 161 lbs.. sssshhhhh she will kill me If she found out I put her weight on here... shes very comfortable and loves it too...:thumbup::thumbup:

My wife is about 5'10" on a good day and we have the setup mentioned above. She uses a bungee across the armrest risers for additional security. With this rig we clock some 700 mile plus days when the mood strikes. ( or what kind of BBQ I amDSCF1224.jpg looking for) Oh, and we are 2 rather well fed folks.

Love it

I love my Utopia backrest. the best mod you can get, my wife love it even more, she is 5'4" and says she feel even safer with the backrest in the front.

Before the backrest I had back issues traveling even 100 miles, after installing it I did few 1000+ miles weekend and love it.

I got great help from Bob from Utopia regarding the adjustment great customer support for a great product.

Enjoy it.

I second the Diamond R Armrests! Utopia Backrest will make the driver comfortable as will the armrests make the passenger more comfortable. I purchased mine at last year's BBQ. They were selling a lot of them. All reviews I heard were positive as is mine! Add their cup holders and you almost have all the comforts of home...

I like the utopia, my wife who is very small is not so keen. She finds it harder to get on but that might just be her. She just completed her second hip replacement in January and was getting on and off the spyder in the driveway. It folds forward but she puts a lot of pressure on it as she can not clear the seat, so she sits on it and nudges her self back. In hind sight I wish I had gone for the removable stem that way you get the best of both worlds.

My wife is about 5.5 an has no problem.. Now.. Her sister inlaw was gonna ride with me one day an she couldnt fit into the seat.. She is a little on the heavy side.. It does take up alot of passenger seat space.. If your wife is small then you wont have any problems an youwill love the seat...

(Hmmm...could this mean another :spyder2: is in my (wife's) future?)

Just read all the replies to my wife.

She said, and I quote "Winner winner chicken dinner"

Yep... this is where it starts! From her saying "I don't care if you get one", to "I like this", to "I need to learn to rYde it in case something happens (or use it while I was on business travel)", progressed to "I got a promotion... I want my own:spyder2: as a present!":lecturef_smilie::gaah::roflblack:

... and trust me, having your wife have her own SL account doesn't help either... it FUELS IT (to where she creates a Facebook page with over 500 members)!!!

Figured I should update this.
We both love the backrest.
I get to lean back and take pressure off the lower back on longer rides.
She feels more secure, and has a nifty little place to put stuff.
