• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger Seat Sensor

So my 2012 RT keeps throwing the code for the passenger seat sensor. Dealer has checked wires and jiggled the connector, but it keeps coming back on an intermittent basis. It's not only annoying, but I'm concerned about the VSS working correctly if the sensor is bad. Anyone know the part number and/or have a source for the sensor?

I had the same problem...really irritating...

It turned out that the passenger switch was not the problem. The problem was the switch where the seat locks down. The little post on the front of the seat goes into a hole under the seat. This is where the seat lock is. My seat lock-switch was sticky from non-use. So, I WD-40'ed it and started slamming it down hard after getting gas each time. The problem went away. Now, I don't need to slam it shut anymore--but habits die hard.

I had NO CLUE there was a switch for sensing the seat in the locked position!

Great tip! Next time I am in there I am going to have a look at it.

Sometimes I think there are too many switches and sensors on these darn Spyders :banghead:
Just more to go wrong in my opinion.

BTW Dan, thanks for letting my Wife Chris sit on your seat and test the arm rests (at the Bert's ride). Now we have a lot to think about :)

the seat lock switch lets the nanny know that the seat is unlocked. I think ( but do no "know") that until I lubricated it and started my slamming-the-thing-shut routine every once in awhile I would hid a bump just right and the nanny would tell me that I lost my passenger. That was a really irritating warning code, especially when my wife was the passenger!

The switch is not to determine if the seat is locked.
It tells the VSS if a passenger is aboard.
The switch under the rear of the seat does that. I think there is another one closer to the front...if I'm wrong then what I did to fix the problem was meaningless. But the problem fixed...so..I donno.
