There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Passenger hip pain

New member
I have a 2015 Can Am Spyder RT Ltd. using the standard OEM Seat.

My wife is having problems riding the passenger seat. Her legs are open due to the wide
design of the Spyder, along with the fact that she has to keep her legs rather straight down.

She finds that the only way she can avoid the hip pain is to stretch her right leg out and hold it there. This isn't going to work for long.

Does anyone know of a solution to this?

Anyone else having this problem?

Is there any build up or even some type of bracket that could be used to create an additional foot placement for the Passenger?

Thanks for any help.

Soon to be a solo rider....

Have you tried raising or lowering the pax footrest to each position, maybe it's also the angle of rest for her legs.

Bob, my wife has arthritis in her legs and experiences the same thing.
Th only solution I have found is for me to lower the foot pegs almost all the way down even though she is only 5 feet tall. That way she can keep her legs straight when she needs and it helps a little...not a total cure.

By the way, she loves riding, pain or not.

we raised ...

we use air hawk {r} cushion , and raised the foot boards all the way up , she says it help a whole lot better , we rode for a long time about 1/4 way down , on the settings area of the rear foot board ... I have seen where some folks have made a longer bracket that uses the original foot board , and the attachment clip , raised the foot rest up 4 inches or there about ...

My wife had this problem and since I know a bit about hips as a neuromuscular therapist I took her to an ortho dr. who ended up replacing her hip joint July past. Anyway let the dr. have a look.
if the hip is structure is good she made to start learning how to stretch.

Thanks for the help. I have tried all different heights for the passenger foot rest The problem is that she needs to raise her right foot forward to a more straight out position for the pain to subside.
I may have to trade in my wife.

Here's a possible solution if Bob's wife has no physical limitation that impacts being a Spyder passenger. Simple yoga hip exercises might not only eliminate the pain when on the Spyder but also improve daily quality of life. Just a thought.
