• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger Handles

Hey Spyder#353,
What type of epoxy did you use? Wasn't sure what it would take to stick to the plastic.
I can't drew stick people either.:roflblack::roflblack:

Well, to each his own. Doesn't make much sense to me - and I rarely have passengers---- but every now and then someone wants to go for a spin.

I doubt anyone would do an aftermarket retractable unit---- not enough need for it - not to mention the liability of such an add-on.

As far as resale value---- that is a big non-issue in my book. I don't care how many mods someone has done or not done to their Spyder - Most will not get anything over $10,000 for a used one-- and far less than that in a trade-up. Heck- you can buy NEW ones for $11,600 !

Even HD's don't hold value anymore.

The Spyder might have held value if they had kept their original low-volume plan in place (1st year PE's were originally supposed to be limited to 1,500).

:agree: Plus, they give me more tie down spots when carrying duffle bags, etc. (since I don't have any saddle bags or top case).

If you look close at my avatar you will see that I don't have any handles. I laid out and cut them off. I filled in the voids with some plastic epoxy and sanded them down and painted them. Nobody ever notice that they are gone,:dontknow: until I bring it up.:D

I think your spyder looks awesome,:clap: nice sleek and clean lines. I am surprised more people don't take them off.
