Passenger Grab handles (& floorboards) rubber base different rubber? Fading badly!

It seems as though the base rubber on my passenger grab bars is different rubber or at least a different color compared to the actual handle? I have tried cleaning it with a couple of different soaps and such but it still looks more brown than black. Almost seems like it has something on it as I can rub really hard and some stuff does slightly come off, but not enough to make it black again.

I have the same thing happening on my 2021 RTL and I'm a little anal about keeping my Spyder clean. After every ride I put 303 protectant on the seat and other plastic parts, including those grab bar end covers, and though mine are not as bad as yours, they are definitely starting to change color. This seems to be a common issue with the 2020+ RTs

Thanks. They just stick out like a sore thumb with that color. Testing some products now, cleaned with BleachWhite that I use on the white letter of truck tires. That cleaned up (one side only) very well. I'll let it sit for a couple of days with rides in between and let the sun get on it also. I also used some ceramic liquid wax to clean up the plastic and that came up looking good. So I'll wax it in a few days.

I’m sorry if this has been addressed, but are the passenger grip black rubber caps and floor board rubber recalled? Ours looks terrible. Thanks

Use Meguiar ultimate black works good like new

Works for a day or two, tried it.

Nothing's going to work for long ,these parts oxidize real fast. I use Back to Black and usually get about month out of it.

I would contact your dealer and open a case for a warranty claim (defective part). I would think this issue is covered under warranty. If your dealer isn't willing to open a case, contact BRP directly and they'll open one. You're not the first person who's had this problem.

My 2020 RTL has the same discoloring of the grab rails too, a dirty brown.

BTW, I also posted (a pic) to BRP with a "warranty" question. Also not holding my breath. It does feel better knowing I am not the only one with this. I was sure I had done nothing wrong!

As far as I know, BRP was also supposed to be investigating these parts for poor fitment and nothing ever came of that either.
