• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger Exhaust Heat

We do a lot of riding 2 up on a 2013 RT-S SE5. From day one my wife has complained of the heat rising from the exposed part of the exhaust that is not covered by the shield. Does anyone know of an after market shield that can be added to deflect the extra heat away from her right foot. Being in AZ and going into summer heat is not our friend. Still trying to figure out going aroung curves. Our bike group seem to loose me on the turns. Waiting for Anti Sway Bars for the 2013RT's to be made by BajaRon.

A) Check with the site sponsor Spyderpops for your heat issue. He has a block plate that goes on the right that might fix the issue, or you can contact him and he can tell you what to do.

B) Before you jump on the Anti-Sway bar, you need to check if your :spyder2: had the ball joints replaced per the service bulletin and if it is properly aligned AFTER the replacement of the ball joints. Also check your front tires' air preasure. Anything off the limits can make it go a little off the sides. Second, learn to relax your grip because this is not a motorcycle where you have to counter steer the handlebars. The Anti-Sway bar improves the swaying, but it will not fix it. 2 different things... There are many owners out there with the original anti-sway bar (because it comes with one OEM) and like the feeling. Bajaron's is just an modification of the original. After putting a few miles, then you can decide if you want one.

We have a 2011 RT and had to stop and let my wife's feet cool off. Had the cat. removed and this solved the problem.

I wonder actually how many degree's this "mod" drops the temperature at the exhaust? Would be neat to know the actual temperature change? :dontknow:

I'm betting the heat she feels is from the cat as well. The 2013s were supposed to have shields from the factory, but maybe not enough! Is there a chance she's actually feeling the heat from the radiator ports? I live in Gilbert and all to familiar with our heat and the dragons breath on the right side.

With regards to handling, all reports say they handle way better than previous years. I haven't ridden a 13, but as been mentioned, I bet it's simply getting used to the feel if the Spyder and technique. It takes time to get used to the different feel.
